Ship-wide Announcement; copied over to the Captain's Log
This is Captain James T. Kirk speaking.

All systems are ready, all decks are cleared. We intend to leave in one hour. Everything is fully stocked, the crew is all aboard and taken account for.

For many of us, this will be our first true mission. One in which we are prepared and ready for our assignments, rather than have them thrust upon us in time of need. Our mission is this -- we are to explore that which is unknown to Earth, to find new colonies, to study and investigate the endless vastness of space. I'm certain that everyone will perform their duties with expert skill and the utmost respect.

At the moment, we are setting course for the nearest star base to drop off supplies and gain further information about the course to be taken. Depending on our speed, we should arrive in the next 3-4 days.

Kirk out.

Let's get the hell out of here, already.

Scores were exemplary as expected. Guess that's what I get if I don't go out and party with my dearly beloved crew. Sure, it would've been nice to be invited, but I kinda get it.

I'm anxious and ready to go. In a way, the tests were necessary -- but kind of odd, if you know what I mean. Nothing prepares you for anything. Like that god damned Kobayashi Maru -- how the hell am I supposed to feel fear if there truly isn't anything to fear? That being said -- it's going to be good. Smooth sailing, at least for the next couple of days.

Then, who knows. I...live for this kind of thing. Kinda surprised I didn't enroll in Starfleet sooner -- the adrenaline high I'm getting is unlike anything I've ever felt before.

And I've thrown cars off of cliffs.

Speaking of that bastard, he and Ma got married while I was in space. Goody goody for her.

Is it time to go yet?
