As some of you may have heard, I will be attending Pro Tour Los Angeles near the end of october. As I'm sure most of you have not heard, I received the following email in my inbox recently.
I am intrigued, confused, and intrigued.
Avri,
By way of introduction, my name is James Singleton and I do PR for Wizards of The Coast and all of Magic: The Gathering trading card game Pro Tours. I understand that you qualified for Pro Tour LA - Congrats. I would like to pitch your story (how you prepare for the championship, your goals, past victories, how you got involved with Magic: The Gathering, and why you think you have a good chance at winning this competition) to Los Angeles newspapers and TV broadcast news outlets if you are planning to compete.
Can you take time to answer a few questions, and I will be back in touch with you. Also, let me know of any updates to your contact information. Thanks for your help, and GOOD LUCK in the competition!
Then there were a bunch of questions like age, place of residence, schooling, hobbies, how long have you played magic, how often do you play magic, that sort of thing.
I'm kinda wierded out, since this is so random, but also really interested in doing something like this.
