So, end result from Nats, no money, but I had a lot of fun.

I stayed with Jen's sister Kendra for the first couple of nights. She lives in DC, so travel back and forth was a little bit of a bitch. The first day I got up at 5 AM so I could take the train up to Baltimore, and then Sean drove me to convention center in time to sign up for the tournament. I go 0-3 in the constructed portion, and 3-1 in limited. REcord after day 1, 3-4. That night, I hung out with Sean for a bit, and then Kendra decided that she was going to be in Baltimore anyway, so she drove me home. The next day, I got up at 6 so I could take the train up to baltimore, only to discover that the metro opens later on weekends, and I wouldn't get there until too late. I called Kendra, and she decided that instead of driving me to the train station, she would just drive me to Baltimore. I bought her breakfast, but I still think I got the better end of that bargain. I went 2-1 in limited, then won 1 and lost 1 in contstructed. That left me at 6-6, and I decided that I would drop then and there, so I would have time to play some side events. I played in a draft, got stuck between two people who were both in my colors, beat one of them round one, and then lost to what looked a constructed UW ninja deck. That night I took the train back home, and after 3 1/2 hours of travel, I finally make it back to Kendra's apartment. Trains are shit on the weekend. The next day I get up at 8 so I can take the train in to Baltimore, only to find that Sean has decided to come down to Bethesda and drive me up. We hang out for a bit, get breakfast, and then I play in a PTQ for PT LA. I beat a bad player running mono black, lose to mono red burn (flames of the blood hand sucks for me), lose to some wierd prison deck running infinite hokoris, beat some guy playing giftless GB, then lose to another guy running infinite hokoris. Then drop. I hung out with Sean more that night, and watched Ninja Scroll and Ghost in the shell. The next day, more quality time with my homosexual lover, and then he drives me to the airport so I can get back home.

So, all in all, a lot of fun, good times playing magic, good times hanging with Sean, but no winnings. I hope to do better at Grand Prix Salt Lake City next weekend. =)
