It's a girl!
Katie's been wanting a new pet for a while. Yesterday, we finally found out from the landlord for sure that we could go ahead and get a kitten without having to pay any extra pet deposit or rent. Last night, we went and got one from Perfect Pets. (They have a deal with a local shelter, or possibly multiple shelters; I'm not sure.)
Katie and I call her "Princess". Yes, her given name starts with a Z. Shut up.
Link wasn't too thrilled at the new edition:
There was a fair amount of hissing (mostly on Link's side). They calmed down eventually, and are currently in a fairly uneasy truce. But the princess seems to be winning. She's sleeping in one of Link's favorite spots, and a few minutes ago Link went up next to her and hissed. She opened her eyes, looked at him briefly, and went back to sleep. Link went away.
