query writing

Query writing sucks. No two ways about it. Funny how easy it is to give feedback on other's queries, but when it comes to your own, every thing you write sounds utterly blah. More amusing that the basics of queries are pretty simple. Structurally they aren't difficult at all. Easy peasy. Yeah, right. Nothing, to me anyway, points out more vividly just how hard it can be to pick apart your own writing. I know my story better than anyone, yet I can't even count just how many times I've rewritten this damn query. It's horrible, horrible I say! I will try again today, and again, and probably yet again to get this damn thing right so that it actually encapsulates what I think makes the story work. This is painfully obvious easier said than done. Bleh.
