Teachers and Sex
Why is it that teachers seem to always be the one making headlines for doing stupid, illegal sexual activity? I read today about an Ohio teacher who was working as a prostitute on the side, and managed the brilliant manuever of using the school computer to arrange a meeting and take half a sick day from her job to score some extra cash. Of course, the said tryst was with an undercover policeman who had been alerted by an anonymous tip that this woman was advertising her services online. Misdemeanor sex charge, felony use of school computer. WTF? Times are hard with the economy right now, but seriously? I'm studying to be an elementary teacher, and shit like this always boggles my mind. I can understand being desperate for money. I'm unemployed right now, and it is rough, but come on. Bailing on your students to go blow a guy for $100? I really hope there's some mental issues going on here, and it wasn't a freely chosen option to be so utterly unethical. I have pity for the woman, especially if she has family, because she has pretty much just ruined the life she had.
