I just had the most incredible call with AT&T Tech Support. It was so bad that I began laughing on the phone.
1. They wouldn't give me tech support until I verified my name was James and not Jimmy. I told her my name and we sat in silence for a minute then she said "please hold I'm looking at the account". Another minute of silence and she said "the name isn't matching" and I said, "They account might say James.... thats still me". A wave of understanding hit her and we moved along.

2. "You're supposed to turn your phone off every few days so uhh.... your phone can uhh.... with the antennae."

4. Her: "It looks like there's poor service in parts of northern nebraska" Me: "Oh, what parts?" Her: "It looks like up along the South Dakota border"

Me: "Are you from Texas? Most AT&T tech support I've gotten has been from Texas"
Her: "Nope, we're located in Clarksville, TN"
Me: "Oh, like that song Last Train to Clarksville? Is that about your city?"
Her: "I don't know that song. But there's a song by *some singer* where she says she's coming home to Tennessee"
Me: "Clarksville Tennessee?"
Her: "No, just about Tennessee. There's a lot of songs about Tennessee" (It was at this point I nearly lost it to laughter)
Me: "Yeah, there's a lot of good music in Tennessee"
Her: "Maybe thats why phone reception gets worse here after 5pm" (This is where I held the phone away because I did start laughing)
