Well my grandfather is doing better as good as someone in there late 80s can be, im just glad that he was already in a hospital when it occured. Im hoping he will be able to go home within the week but I cant hold my breath on it. Its moments like this that make you realise a lot of things. My grandfather accomplished so much, he was a lawyer and graduated from Fordham in New York. He fought in World War 2 and had to raise my dad by himself for a little while when my dads mother and my grandfathers wife passed away. He had to start all over again with a new family when he married my grandmother. What im getting at is the last great war as many people call it was over 50 years ago. Many people say that that war defined a generation calling the soldiers heros for what they did, literally saving the lives of millions, millions of people that they never knew personally. As the years go by these heros are dying and its sad to know that the golden age is over and that within 20-30 years there will be no one with direct connection to world war 2 to tell the stories from a first person perspective. It also makes you wonder, what will the people of the future think of our generation? will we be looked upon and described in a positive manner or will we be the ones who destroy the world? Only time will tell and that you control your own destiny, what you do with it might define your generation.
