You win some... you lose some.

See, this is why I don't leave the house... because if there is a game on and I leave, my team gets behind. There have been two games that I was "out of the house for" and for both of them, they got smashed. The first time was Maryland which is not that big of a shock, because the Terrapins are pretty good (plus I don't hate them.). But, we came back to win, so it was all good. But, Wake Forest?! (Are they seriously chanting "over-rated!"?! Are they rated? 6-5 in the conference? Ewww.. shut up. You are barely over .500.)

I can take a loss to a good team, a contender, but Wake Forest? No. Wake Forest?! The Demon Deacons? No. They are the fourth team in the Big Four, the one no one I know goes for, the one that no one has paid any attention to since Rodney Rogers. Seriously, Wake Forest? No. Plus, they are located in Winston-Salem and they wear black and gold. These are two downgrades. And now they are saying that they won it for Skip Prosser. Okay, don't try to pull the "oh, our coach died last year. We did it for Skip!" card on me. That does not work.

And now I await the first "Wake Forest? Really?!" email. Will it come from the State fan or the Carolina fans? That is the question. Losing is bad enough, right? But losing and having to hear from the mouthy Carolina fans? That is the worst.

But today was also opening day of the NASCAR season, the Daytona 500. This is usually a good race, not only because it is the first, but because of the actual racing which I will not explain (you're welcome), as I imagine the use of the words "drafting", "team work", "pit stops" and "restrictor plates" would be involved... and no one would know or care what I was talking about. So, just know that it is usually good. Except this year they got a new car, the former Car of Tomorrow, and it ruined the racing. It took everything that was good about restrictor plate racing and kind of messed it up. So it was a 200 lap race, 150 laps or so of which we spent like, "This sucks!", "This is boring!" and such.

The announcers were all over Junior (as always, as his dad was good, so therefore he must be good too, right?) and it was annoying. It was worse because he was not doing that bad for most of it. But as in basketball I go for "Anyone But Carolina", in racing it is "Anyone But Junior" (or Jimmie or Fat Tony). There was a big fuss about it being the 50th running of the race, so it was kind of a big deal. So, the puch for Junior to win was on. And we can't have Junior doing that because we hate him and he is grossly overrated. (Did I mention we hate him?)

It was boring for the first 3/4, but then it picked up. And by picked up, I mean, "People kept wrecking, so things slowed down." This is usually annoying, but since this included Jimmie Johnson wrecking, it was allowable. And then it go good and it looked like Kyle Busch was gonna take it (we like him), or maybe Tony Stewart (we don't like him) and that Junior was going to get shut down (always a good time). But instead, we get this.

Which is not Jimmie (wrecked out), Junior, not Tony (the orange car) and not Kyle (the yellow car behind the orange car). That is Ryan Newman who is the driver I go for. So, even thought the Blue Devils let me down (really? Wake Forest) I still get to exercise my right to be an insufferable fan of a Winner because my boy won the Daytona 500. As I said, you win some... you lose some.

And then I watched some of the NBA All-Star game, but I just could not get into it. Oh NBA, why do you suck balls? You used to be good!

FYI: It was the Carolina fans that got to me first. State fans even lose at trash-talking! Also, why will LJ not let me edit my userpics? I had a brand new one ready to go for this post, but I can't upload it. Fail.
