Moving day is scheduled for Sunday, August 30. Here's the stuff that we're not taking, and the buyers don't want. If you want it, you can have it, so long as you're willing to come to Pasadena to get it.*
Clicking on the images will take you to the flickr photo page, with more resolution than you could possibly need just a click away. In all cases, the clutter and junk associated with the item in question we intend to keep.
Queen-Size Bed

Now, by "bed" I mean "queen-size mattress and box spring on one of those adjustable H-frames they give you with purchase of same, all attached to a cheap-ass particle board headboard." But if you're still sleeping on your futon sofa, this is definitely an improvement. The mattress and box spring are mid-high grade, firm, purchased new in 2002, and have seen only normal wear. We've rotated and flipped the mattress regularly, and never use the bed without sheets and mattress pad (though it's a fight with the cats every time we change same). NB: Between now and moving day, I need to have someplace to sleep. The other items I can live without for a week, but this one I'm going to ask that you arrange to pick up on moving day. We'll have a truck that day, so if you're in the Pasadena area and your schedule is flexible, I may be able to arrange a drop-off. Update: Gone.
Black Dresser
![](http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2573/3844366136_6b0a2a7766_m.jpg)
I'll spare everyone the rant about the price I paid for this vs. the quality of the product, and just say that it's a perfectly serviceable dresser with cosmetic issues. Measures about 49"h, 34"w, 22"d. Update: Claimed by a co-worker.
White Dresser
![](http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2613/3843586437_fd173720aa_m.jpg)
Particle board construction. Held a fish tank for several years (which I don't recommend, as it made the top drawer hard to open), so there's some delamination on the top, but it's a perfectly serviceable dresser. It came with handles and pulls, and I still have the pulls if you prefer that look. Measures about 41"h, 29"w, 19"d. Update: Claimed by a co-worker.
My husband hates the portrait of a Native American currently sitting on top of it, so I'm entertaining offers for him as well. :)
Dining Room Chairs
![](http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2600/3843578119_5d2ae519f8_m.jpg)
Bent-wood style, painted black, with red-violet corduroy upholstery. The construction is actually lightweight aluminum and plastic, meaning they don't take use well, and one is a bit rickety at this point. The other three are perfectly usable. Update: Went to Out of the Closet
Maytag Rollaway Dishwasher

I'm astounded the buyers don't want this, as it's a very good unit, and these are hard to find. It's a dishwasher that rolls over and hooks up to your sink (requires an aerator that it can clip onto, but if the one I've got is the wrong size for your sink, they're readily available at any large hardware store). I'm the second owner of this, and I think it's about 15 years old, but it's a Maytag and should keep running for another decade or more. Does a great job on the dishes.
Metal Shelf
![](http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2527/3844374498_8d67dac926_m.jpg)
I have no idea how old this one is. I got it as a hand-me-down from a friend who got it as a hand-me-down from a friend, who got it as a hand-me-down from a friend... It has a pretty significant dent in one of the shelves, but it still works to hold your books and stuff. 37"h, 36"w, 9"d. Update: Went to Out of the Closet.

This is an eclectic collection of parts from the totally modular
Ikea Ivar system. We stained them, but did not polyurethane them, so they can be re-stained or painted as easily as the ones you'd buy new. Some of the uprights survived a flood and have some discoloration, and the shelves range in quality from "very good" to "warped and stained." Here's the deal: I don't have the time or energy to sell these off for parts (there's a couple hundred dollars worth of elements here), so it's free on the condition that you'll take all of it. You can then keep what you want and dispose of the rest as you see fit. There are more shelves than are currently installed (you can sort of see the stack in the corner of one of the pictures), and we're short about 5 shelves' worth of mounting pins (though Ikea will be happy to sell you the missing parts if, for some reason, you need every shelf).
Scratching Posts

For a long time, I was in the bad habit of buying a new scratching post when my cats got through the upholstery on one, and then being too cheap to throw the old one away because I could re-upholster it, dammit! Well, they've all been re-upholstered now (some better than others) but the cats have more than they can shake a stick at, so these three are available. Update: Claimed by a co-worker via e-mail.
Beveled Mirror

If you've been in my house, you know it -- it's the one on the mantle. Overall 23"x27" and in very good shape.
Rolling Computer Stand

I adore this computer stand, despite it being an inexpensive particle-board piece of furniture. There are CD racks integrated into the base, between which there's room for a standard tower computer. There's a keyboard tray with a mouse/trackball shelf that can slide out on either the left or the right, and a fold-down wing provides extra storage for whatever you're currently working on. Unfortunately, a Mac Pro isn't a standard tower computer and my laptop doesn't need something like this, and therefore I've simply outgrown it. The monitor seen in the picture is available as well. I believe it's a Compaq SVGA, about 9 years old. Update: Went to Out of the Closet. I hope it finds a good home there.
Adjustable Computer Stand

I rescued this from the trash at USC in 1992. Both the front keyboard stand and the back monitor stand are adjustable, making this compare favorably (except cosmetically) with the $500 units out there. You can't see it in the photo, but under the printer is a partially mangled metal structure for lockdown cables. Overall 36"w, 31"d. Update: Went to Out of the Closet.
*Fresno readers, if there's room in the truck for it, we'll bring it in the move, as long as you can come liberate it relatively promptly from the Fresno house.
