(no subject)
It's 1:10pm Eastern time, and I'm still in Miami. The flight that left Seattle last night left about 3 hours late, then turned around and became cancelled. Fun times. The Miami airport was a mess, with agents not knowing very good English trying to tell everyone that there would be no compensation because the canceled flight was due to weather (I challenge that...the flight DID take off. She mentioned people were getting sick and then once they turned around, the crew would have gone over time). They were able to book a good chunk of people on the MCO flight that was at 6pm later today, and others on tomorrows flight. The irony here of course is that just last night, I paid $90 to switch from Wednesday to today's flight.
Anyways, after an hour of chaos at the airport, and not even getting near the desk, I was able to call the MVP desk (Alaska Air reservations is NOT open 24 hours...I found that very surprising). The agent rebooked me on a code-share flight with AA through LAX at 4pm, no questions asked, no extra cost, just reticketed me and sent me on my way (well, took at 10 minutes for her to do the dirty work). I immediately went to the AA desk to check in and get a boarding pass. 12C - woohoo! an aisle! I KNOW those flights are going to be overbooked, so I wanted to make sure I got my seat assignment in writing.
Now I'm just killing time at my parents house. I rescheduled my DR appointment for Wednesday at noon, and had to cancel a date for tonight. I tried napping, but no luck, so I laid outside in the sun in a pair of boxers. daavey is going to be jealous of my wee tan. :-)
