A Little Bit of This...a Little Bit of That...
Just a few more days of work and then (*sigh*) I will be off for two glorious weeks. Am I travelling? Doing anything big? Nope. Just relaxing, enjoying the holiday and spending some quality time with the folks I love. Everyone will be home by Thursday night and it will be such a joy to have everyone there for Christmas this year. *sigh again*
Since this is our first Christmas with our DVR, I've taken on the mega-project of recording (nearly) every Christmas special I can find and burning them all to DVD. I've mentioned before that I am a collector of holiday specials of all kinds - I love the classics best, but am also partial to those that are off the beaten path. If I had a ton of free time, I'd like to do the research and write a book on reflections of each decade's contemporary society by examining the holiday specials that came out each year. Sounds like a joke, I'm sure, but it's really fascinating to note the little differences from year to year and think about what was going on in the world at that time.
And I've had fun this afternoon putting gifts into these stockings for other people, so I figure I should put on my sheep suit and join the fun. :)
