Cal Gary

I'm in Calgary now. I got here friday night and it was raining. Then it was raining Saturday. Apparently they get a lot of rain here. On Sunday it was not raining and it was warmer and everyone was saying how it was hot, but frig, it wasn't even hot. The thing that was better about Mississauga was that it was summer there. I can't wear shorts here, it's all jeans, and that's messed up.

When I drove through Saskatchewan I got a little bit of storm but apparently I just missed a really big storm with tornadoes. I guess it's good I didn't get the tornado storm but I've never seen a tornado, so I was a little disappointed.

Despite the rain Calgary is a pretty sweet city so far. The groceries are a little more expensive here but I can handle that. Yesterday we rode the C-Train downtown and looked at a bunch of stuff. The C-Train is like the subway except it's not as long and it's above ground.

They've got a tower downtown that's like the CN Tower only shorter. But what's messed up is that it's not even the tallest building in the city. I guess you can go up it to look into the offices of the people in the buildings beside it. They've also got some mountains here which are pretty good, although I've only seen them from a distance. But I've never seen real mountains before so to me they're good.

Another thing I like about here is that they had the Olympics in 1988 but they've still got signs up all over the place for it. It was 17 years ago, they need to get over it!

Today I need to unpack my stuff and then I am meeting Micki at her work downtown and she will show me more STUFF. We'll see how it goes, but I am predicting well.
