Cool Stuff Friday

Happy Friday, all! I’m really, really hoping to have a draft of Unbound I can submit to my editor by the end of this weekend. If I do, I may reward myself by trying to put a costume together for Windycon. Don’t know if I’ll be able to pull it off, but there’s an idea that’s taken hold of my brain…

cool stuff

Those goat pics are almost certainly legit. Those things are insane, and can stand on almost any tiny ledge. You ever see plants growing out the side of a cliff? Goats call that lunch.

That family costume is awesome.

If I might add my own thing of awesome here, here is a link to a Dalek transformer that one of my college roommates designed for home 3D printers. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:161455

Sweet! There's a TARDIS one, too?

Definitely adding that to the link roundup for next week :-)

He did the Tardis one first. Sadly, when I inquired about them, I was told that they probably wouldn't stand up to a young child's rough play. I still want one for my desk at work.

I looked at the comments on the goat thing because I was expecting stuff like "LOL FAKE" and "Obvious Photoshop--fail!" and instead....sigh. why did I not listen?

Why can human beings not accept people's beliefs or lack thereof? Seriously, what makes us have this insane need to be Right to the point where we do this? Both sides are equally bad about it.

I love the adorable Labyrinth costumes! I Squeed.

Okay, to reference last week's Cool Stuff Friday, how'd the D&D session go?

Really well! A little hectic with three little-kid attention spans to manage, but they all survived, saved the kitty, fought some kobolds and rats, did a few goofy things, and had a good time.

Great!!

When I first started with my kids, our youngest was about seven, and I found out very quickly that her attention span limit was about an hour. So, I'd go an hour and then we'd take a break and do something else for a few. The older two wanted to play longer stretches, but I told them to watch and it'd work out. And it did.

I can't wait to hear about your next adventure:

[knock knock]

[opens door] "Yes?"

"I hear you and your friends save cats....."

Thank God for Cool Stuff Friday!! :)

That family cosplay of the Labyrinth characters looks awesome! Awww... *melts*

I'm so happy that 13 year old Maria Keller donated one million books! That's so nice and generous. :)
