Almost there! Stay on target…

I’m so close to wrapping up the second draft of The Snow Queen’s Shadow … meaning my brain has little room for anything except getting through these final few scenes.  It took a supreme act of willpower to not call in sick today so I could finish.

There’s still a lot of work left to do on this thing.  Basically, I need to splice in another full ( Read more... )

I really want to ask you if everyone we love makes it through the entire series, but I know that's not a fair question.

LOL, well, after The Mermaid's Madness, I'm hoping for the best, but expecting the worst.

For a LEGO rifle, yea, that's pretty darn good!

As for being in the home stretch...YAAY! You'll get there.

Thanks! I both love and hate this part, where everything else in my life feels like a distraction from FINISHING THE BOOK!!! Writers should really just be locked away in a vault with a laptop somewhere when we reach this point in the process...

Being locked away in a vault would probably be the worst thing. Everything I've read stipulates that writers need some kind of social stimulation to accelerate the process. >=}

Yes and no. In the long term, it's definitely helpful (at least for me) to have the social interaction, to get away from the book and do other things, and so on.

But in the short term, all I've wanted for the past week is a single day with no distractions and nothing else to do so I can get this last part finished up.

And the pun? The pun will still be there right?

Right?

I'm about 90% sure that pun is going to stay, yes :-)

Most excellent, sir.

I will read it and enjoy it and blog about it.

That is one excellent application of Lego. :D

Would not be at all surprised if increasing the rubber bands reduced the accuracy--LEGO bricks are not the most aerodynamically stable projectile out there.

But that's my reasoned, considered response. My initial reaction was, "Sweet!"

I'm wondering if there's a way to use round pieces, maybe stacked together, and to rifle the barrel for stability. Which means I'm thinking about this way too much :-)

Go work on your book! :)

And now you've got me doing it; my brain keeps wondering how high a velocity, and how tight a twist, we'd need to make rifling effective as a stabilizing factor in a projectile with LEGO's low density.
