Looks like Friday and Saturday evenings will be my socializing time. Penguicon usually attracts a good range of nifty folks. I'm looking forward to it. Any bets as to how many people show up for an 8:00 a.m. panel on Sunday, though?
I don't actually have anything else to chat about today, so I figured I'd just toss out a few random things and call it a blog post.
Random (and vaguely surreal) Diabetes Moment: Shaving a horizontal stripe on my belly so the sticky tape for the insulin pump catheter won't rip out my hair when I remove it. One of those things they don't talk about in diabetes 101.
Random New Books (I know I'm missing some...):
Random Red Hood Excerpt:
“Get up,” said Talia. “Or else I’ll find something to help you. You’d be amazed how many creatures you can find in the desert, all of whom would love a nice, warm body to crawl in with.”
Snow tossed her blanket at Talia. “Try it and I’ll turn you into one.”
Talia had brought food and clothes. A bowl of food sat to one side of the doorway. Steam rose from a torn loaf of black-crusted bread. Several bunches of grapes sat nested between the loaves. Peeking into the clay jugs revealed beer in one and warm milk in the other. Three linen shifts sat folded beside the tray.
“Beer for breakfast?” Snow asked.
Talia grinned. “Welcome to Arathea.”
