That is the harshness of doing anything creative in the public eye. People can be truly mean, and it is hard not to take it personally.
For me, I absolutely love your stuff. I just love Dresden. His personality is amazing and witty even though he's been through so much. A friend got me hooked on the series. I brought home the first book and had plans in the evening. I started reading to kill a few hours, and finished the book, totally missing my plans but enjoying my evening nonetheless. (I read really fast)
As for your 2. I found you had a livejournal and had to friend you since you were on here. I'm not much of a writer (though some of your advice applies to my industry very well) and I love reading what you post. I personally friended you to feel like I had more of a connection to an author that I adore. I think that may be true for others here as well.
I suppose what I mean to say is *post more!!* We do like to hear how your writing is going and how you are doing.
