So, while searching for plugins for EV: Nova today, I found myself doing the "that's a cool link ::press, read half a page:: ooh, that's a cool link" and so forth, browsing the web. Wikipedia article on EV: Nova leads to "similar games." One of which listed was Star Control 2, one of my first computer games that I spent more than 40 hours on. It was FUCKING AWESOME.
And then I read IT'S article, and latest update.
The devolpers have released it's source code under the GNU GPL, and someone wrote an updated version of it to run on a modern system (it was designed for a 486).
My heart has stopped.
