So, a little backround. If you know about Belegarth and my history in it you can skip this.
I'm part of an orginisation known as Belegarth (www.belegarth.com). I have been for 5 years. Durring this time, I have taken a total of about 2 years in various chunks, but mostly the whole 2004 season and first half the the 2005 (seasons are either from spring to fall, or Jan 1st to Dec 31, depending on how you look at it.).
In Belegarth we have events, where we as an orginization come together to do battle against other groups from across the nation.
I haven't been able to make an event for 3 years, my last one being Oktoberfest '02. But, finally, I made an event, Spring War '06, and I just got back tonight.

I had SO MUCH FUN. You have no clue. 4 days of camping, fighting and drinking.
I left school Thursday at 1 o'clock with a packed car. I drove from there to Yorkville where I met up with Moxk, Postal, Sai, Arky, Gallant, Bjorn, Smackey, Briar and Mashara. We formed a 4 car caravan and travelled the 5 hours to the event.
Thursday is all setting up camp and a little visiting. We camp according to where we're from or who we fight with. Dunharrow is my realm, so I camped in Dunharrow camp with other people from my area (think "team"). We shared our camp with Loderia and some northerners without realms.
Thursday night it rains, I sleep in my car all 3 nights. I hate tents.
Friday we've got great weather and Fighting, but because of some hiccups with the weapons I was supposed to be picking up from a merchant there, and the heat, and my laziness, I didn't fight that day. Instead me and Sai and Skydd went to town for booze. This is an all day affair, town is about 40 minutes away. We purchase $150 in booze and 40 in food. Come back to camp, much drinking. Despite trying I don't get drunk. Damn.
Saterday morning I watched three of my friends get barreled into House Hellhammer. How to explain... House Hellhammer is a fighting house, a group of like minded individuals who choose to fight together. Usually they have similiary themed costumes and such. For example the house symbal is the Chaos Star and thier colors are Gold, Black, and red. Everyone tries to incorporate these things.
As for the Barrel, Hellhammer has about 40 memebers. For your barrel you fight every member of house hellhammer at the event until you beat them. Then you fight teams of 2, and they deem in neccisary teams of 3. It's an endurance trial. Constant fighting for... well, as long as it takes. Shortest barrel ever was 5 minutes, longest was several hours. The only thing that stops a barrel other than finishing is either you throwing in the towel or puking up blood.
Ferrin, Postal, and Arky all barreled into Hellhammer. You really have to see it to understand, it's a very hard test, and a great honor.
Anyway, fighting all day, another booze run for $150 more dollars of booze, blah.
Saterday night had a blast, got smashed. Sunday pack up and leave.
The best part about this was seeing all these People I hadn't seen in 3 years. People who live in Tennesee, or just southern IL. People who honestly surprised me by remembering who I was. In particular, one guy, Raziel, I've never had a conversation with. I knew him, but I had no idea he knew who I was. But he recognized me on site and called me by name. Well, he called me Jimmy, no one ever remembers to call me Trev.
All in all, I had such a great time. I can't even begin to describe it. I'm so glad I started fighting again, I'm so glad I made it to Spring War, I can't wait for practice on Tuesday, this is gonna be a great season.
