In other news, I was wondering if you all could do me a favor. I was trying to make this list in my head, and it was very short. Surprise me by showing me that it's longer than I thought.

Prove to me our society isn't crap.

I understand that. But it seems like 95% of women I end up meeting have. And I wanted to see if this was a real average, or I just meet people with bad pasts. I think it's the latter, which means I need to find out why that is.

So, men in this case didn't really apply.

I have never been raped.

But it has been attempted, twice, for the love of god, More fathers need to teach there daughters how to fight.

I agree that girls should be taught self-defense from an early age. Incidentally, I will be available during all of Bristol Ren. Faire for instruction in Chin Na (Seize & Control, very simple Kung Fu requiring no special skills or physicality) free of charge for anyone interested.

I want my child to be able to kill a man by the age of 8... but that's just more because I want to breed something fairly self sufficiant. Able to scrounge, basically. Standard resourcfulness give you many bonuses to your r/l roles, I believe.

I learned self defense at the age of 12. I can get anyone off my back in any situation.

I think, however, if you learn it too early, you're developing bad habits, like... hitting is good. If they're younger than that, it's always good to reinforce that it's only to be used if you think you're going to die, or something.

Didn't see this until now. I'm female and I've never been raped. :-D

I also live in the 5th safest county to live in, because I'm sure that makes a difference. ;)
