I am working in Yokohama this week. I've never been to Japan before and unfortunately I actually have a lot of work to do so I am not able to get out and explore beyond what I see in my daily commute on the train.
Japan is an odd place. They have little cartoons for EVERYTHING here! Like a sign that says to not use your cell phone on the train has little anime dudes talking on their phones with grumpy parental-types scowling at them. Also everything is super colorful and friendly. Kind of like Las Vegas and Disney had an illegitimate love-child.
Oh and the toilets are... interesting. I mean the heated seats kinda rock, but when I pressed the button that I thought was "flush" (it kind of had a little cartoon of what appeared to be a man (he was wearing a cowboy hat) sitting on a flushing toilet) I was quite shocked when a jet of luke-warm water tried to give me an enema. I didn't DARE press the button that had a picture of a butt on top of a glorious fountain of toilet water.
But on the other hand I am getting all the raw fish I can eat (which is a lot).
