Fucking Unions
So, my company, which is a non-profit vocational rehabilitation company, is building a new building and there is a union protesting our project because we did not use a local union approved company. We would have used them except their bid was $300,000 over the competition's and being a small non-profit we could not afford it. The company we are using is local and they only employ local workers (they must live within 50 miles of the project), and all of the sub contractors are union. So here is the problem, the local union is protesting (good for them I am glad they are expressing their opinion) but they are not nice protesting, they are like total assholes. They block the entrance to our building so you can’t get in or out without running over people, they shout obstinacies at our mentally handicapped employees (“Hay retards!” and “Do you work with Forest Gump?”), they threw a rock at one of our delivery trucks, they came in and slashed tires of our 2nd shift employees and broke into one of our tool sheds and vandalized property… Among other things…
The part that bothers me the most is that we are a manufacturing company that only employs people with disabilities or other significant barriers to employment (i.e. refugees, homeless individuals, ect.), the types of people that can’t get a job anywhere else in town because they are discriminated against, and these union protestors are going on the news saying that our company doesn’t support the Lansing economy and that we don’t care about people. Bull shit… Bunch of self centered ass holes… One protestor actually said that our hiring practices were “discriminatory” because we do not consider job candidates who are not disabled.
I swear to god… I am going to run over they next protestor that shouts out the word “retard”… Lets see who will employ you when you are in a wheelchair asshole!
