Football was terrific yesterday:-)
Dortmund stadium is a bit...overwhelming. Big. Very big. Nonetheless, we had a great view. And I certainly would have felt a lot better if I hadn't felt the onset of a cold during the ride already (felt flushed, sweaty, dizzy, headache, blocked sinuses, sore throat...and by halftime the MONTHLY THING joined in with hormones, chills, cramps and so on and so forth....)
DIDN'T STOP ME FROM CHEERING LIKE A MADWOMAN WHEN MIRO SCORED !!!! WHO'S DA MAN???
Gods, that man is *so* my favourite EVER (Score, run to coach, get pat on the head and a dog-biscuit, rejoin the squad...*is in love*)
The others did fine as well. Aogo was a great asset, Mertesacker did most of the work, though; they were probably trying to make him feel at home like he was playing with Werder so the other defenders just stood by and watched... nah, I'm kidding, they worked their asses off as well, eventually, but Merte really saved their collective bacon with many decisive actions -- and don't get me started on Neuer. OH MY NEUER!!! I am totally in awe with the respect the BVB fans (like, 70% of the stadium by the sound of it) have for him. No dissing or whistling or booing, no, but roars of approval at each save. The young BVB players were all right as well, very nimble, though to no effect eventually.
DIsappointment of the evening: Thomas Müller. Missed almost every pass, lots of times the ball passed to his side ended past the line. Lost possession of the ball almost every time. Failed to successfully pass it on. No, not sorry that Jogi exchanged him.
Did I already mention Miro? *big grin* Much in love.
BTW, are goals scored in friendlies really relevant to the running tally of "top scoring players" (in which Miro now ranks second)??? I thought only "official" (e.g. tournaments/qualifiers) counted...but looking at the (yeah, never trust Wikipedia, but still...) score, the 10-goal-countdown to Gerd Müller has obviously begun. Down to nine...hooray...
Biggest regret: Getting stuck with a cold. Great. Guess the weeks that I spent removed from human interaction were disadvantageous for my immune system. Try your hand at detailled formatting (infinitesimal stuff) of a PowerPoint presentation of 30 pages when you can barely concentrate...
