Friday the 13th is here so I made a rare Friday foray into the outside world to make sure I bought a Powerball ticket (Yeah, the ticket is for a Saturday drawing, so maybe my logic is all twisted, but... gotta dream.)
The latest lj_scribe challenge included a prompt ("Through the open door") that took me to one of those philosophic places, so I wrote a semi-religious piece that I wanted to share here as well.
"Threshold of Grace"
I know that through that distant door,
Open to all but me,
Lies the solace I'm looking for,
The peace I know to be.
The price to enter seems so small,
Allegiance to the one.
Yet time after time I still fall.
For me it can't be done.
So it's here, outside, I will stay,
Knowing too well my place...
To never walk for all my days
`Cross the threshold of grace
friday the 13th,
poetry,
