In Pursuit of Pulitzers (#7)
I finally managed to trudge my way through "The Shipping News" by E. Annie Proulx . I tried to start this one a year ago, and found myself putting it down almost immediately. The characters, many with distractingly strange names (Petal, Bunny, Wavey, Quoyle), did not speak to me and I found the writing style unenjoyable. Not sure exactly what it is that garnered this book such critical praise, but it is not a book I would recommend to anyone.
