Sam had been cranky ever since the weather had changed. It was partially why he had decided to go to the party that had just happened, and why he tried his best to stay in the Compound as much as he could. Even there was crowded - understandably so - so that didn't really help much either. The problem was, he couldn't sleep in the rec room, too, and the nighttime was as hot as the daytime. By the time it was obvious the weather wasn't changing, he finally decided the best course of action was to seek out a place for her to stay during the night, at the very least.
Jim knew of only one person that fit that. He'd been planning on seeing if he could catch Veronica to congratulate her because he couldn't the day before, so it seemed as good a time as any to go talk to her. It didn't take him long to head down to the floor she was on, Sam in tow. She was being good for once - not putting up a fuss at all - and that was probably because they'd spent almost the entire day in the Compound so far.
Once he reached the door, he knocked on it, holding Sam's hand with his other one. She'd be happy to see her, too.
