A strange sort of restlessness had settled on him.
It had started, really, with the elections. Jim had been quick to toss some names up, but for a moment, just a small moment, he considered putting his name up, too. But he knew it'd be impossible; that he had a family to worry about, that he only had so many hours of free time and none that could be dropped at the island's whims.
It wasn't anyone's fault, really, and he didn't regret what he had. He loved being a father, and he loved being a husband, but he found more and more he really had nothing to do that was just him. Whenever he wasn't with them, he sort of wandered aimlessly around, and despite how he liked people to think he was perfectly content to do nothing but lie around, he actually really didn't.
He just had to suck it up, really. It was his downtime again, and he chose this time to use it to visit William. Maybe watching someone else work would make him feel busy by default. He knocked on the door to the Times office once before peeking his head in.
"William?"
