Hey again!
Haven't had much to post about as of late, and I'd rather spare the belly-aches that I've posted about in the past for now and get with (ahem,) something completely different.
(Tuesday) The oncologist is still happy about my numbers and can't wait to have another CAT done on me around Jan/Feb to see if the nomadic pieces of tumor have shrunk if not disappeared outright by then. Afterward, I went to the surgeon's office to let the staff know that I might be running late on Wednesday since that is chemo day.
(Wednesday) I gave madre a chance to sleep-in this morning and drove myself to chemo, as she has a cataract in one eye and it is still very dark out at seven in the morning. Wearing my brand new
Watering Hole T-Shirt, and my emergency bag* in hand, I made it with plenty of time to grab a coffee from the lobby's snack bar. After Ireland opened, I found a copy of "The Crow" to watch in the cubicle while I got infused with "Gin, Vodka, and Tequila" while the older gentleman next to me got what could be mistaken for a nice sized "Bloody Mary", since he was getting a Type-O+ (hey, my blood type as well; small chemo center!) transfusion with a saline chaser. My session lasted longer than the movie did, but not to the point of being late to visit the surgeon's office. It was a very brief (and early) visit, where I found that Dr. V is waiting for me to be all done with the chemo hopefully once and for all before the re-section can happen, and that won't be until two months after the very last chemo ever! Who knows how many cycles I'll be going through until then. :/ One of the questions that didn't make it out of my mouth was that I can at least put a few hours in at Green Gas, even if it was only to reacquaint myself to the infamous Ruby register system.
Next week I'm off from any chemo session, but I must call Dr. M the oncologist to see what my schedule the week after will be like. I know it'll probably be 7:30am ~ done as in this last cycle, but it is also for the chemo nurses' benefit to know what the I.V. infuser will be pushing into my vein on a given week.
*It is a book bag containing a quick change of clothes, and my colostomy bag replacement/cleaning kit in case I spring a leak or need to wash out the bag.
(note to self: Air freshener would be a nice addition sometime soon!) At least once has Portabrayne found room in there, as well as a VHS of "Apollo 13" with a book or two.
Da Igg-ster and the Stooges made it into the R&RHoF, that fabulous place designed by I.M. Pei(d a silly amount to re-invent the pyramid [XD],) that I swore I wouldn't visit unless Sabbath was enshrined. (I still haven't gone btw, I guess I'm really holding out until Neil Diamond gets in!)
I really should have bought that copy of Dragon Speaking when I had the chance, there's so much that doesn't make it to the keyboard that might have made it to file if I just speak it, like another
tfmech_exchange story I'm supposed to have done by New Year's Eve.
