Nothing to Fear

Right, this summer I intend to get back into lj a bit. Been neglecting this thing for far too long! Yesterday I went to see Radiohead with Andreas and my nephew Ashley, and it was really fantastic! When I tell people that they're my favourite band, often I am met with some funny looks. Some find it disappointing that I even like such depressing music, but it isn't depressing! I'm not even going to bother to explain because a lot of people don't get it and are just very eager to tell you just how depressing their music is, suffice to say I find something very uplifting about it and the atmosphere at their concert was one of excitement and good-humour.

Enough ranting! I'm easing my way back into the world of blogging with a little quiz. Kudos to
mistresscara for this one!

1. First Name: James. I was named after a boy who my parents had been praying for, he'd been very ill and his parents put a request for prayer on the prayer chain set up by local christians

2. Age: 23. Very young.

3. Location:  A very pretty part of Nelson, Lancashire in northern England. No-one wants to live in Nelson, but the part I live in is a bit gorgeous

4. Location:  I live with my mum and nephew in a 2-bedroom terraced house. We moved into a smaller home over a year ago because the family home was getting too big for just mum and me. Now it seems a little crowded here at times. I'm thinking of moving out as soon as financially plausible.

5. Partner?:  None yet!

6. Kids:  Yes, I want a family

7. Brothers/Sisters:  Five older half sisters, both my parents were previously married once

8. Pets:  My nephew

9. List the 3-5 biggest things going on in your life:
- God takes first priority
Trying to be a good Sunday School teacher, and a useful member of the music group at church. I want God to use me and my skills as a photographer somehow too
- then my family
Mum is amazing, though she can nag at times I think all mothers worry like that. All of my family are great people actually
- and then my friends and hobbies
I've lost contact with quite a lot of friends over the years but they are still my friends and it's good to catch up from time to time. It's always a pleasant surprise when one pops up online somehow that I've not spoken to for ages. I'm hoping this summer to get my full motorbike license so i can get about on the motorways and even give people lifts, that would be ace!!

10. Parents:  Dad died when I was 17, people say I'm a lot like him. It's pretty difficult sometimes not having him around but I think we do alright now really. I miss him. Mum is fantastic, she's helped me through a lot of things and I'm very grateful for all that she's done

11. Who are some of your closest friends?:  My closest friends are Carl, Lee and Andreas. I met Carl at Burnley college when we were both doing an a-level in computing. We've got a lot of quite sad in-jokes that no-one else would get but we find them pretty funny, Carl is awesome! Lee and Andreas I met whilst studying photography at Blackburn, we've always got some odd project to do that usually never gets done. Some time ago we made a short film called The Bus Stop we're planning to remake it and do some follow-ups, but we've been planning that for a while now. We're also claiming to be a band now.
