Thursday night was a sleepless night with pulling out lines and sitting with arla for 1 hour. We planned our trip yet didn't really know what we were doing, but we did decide to leave by 8. The next morning there was a employee brunch, all the co-workers took our Christmas picture and headed down for the cafe to join the festivities. There were free pies, Christmas songs karokee, and very good tamalies. I had two and jetted for home hoping arla wouldn't wait long but praise God she said she was running late too. got home and had just enough time to finish packing and take a shower.
The trip started off strong, many things to talk about and probably could've talked a lot more but i was honestly dead tired. I ended up falling asleep, heh hearing arla singing... we made an emergency bathroom break... i felt like a little kid in the car when a that sudden urge comes over you and u just need to use the bathroom out of nowhere but need it fast... i was like oooo arla stop noowww!!! heh, so we stopped at Barnes and Noble and headed on. Next stop was Napa Outlets, bumped into Andy and John in Calvin Kline. I was facing Arlene and my back was to Andy and them and i heard someone say, "Is that Jill?" And for the life of me i could not recognize the voice but was glad to see my wonderful friends again andy and john... they also helped me with the decision to buy a jacket in j-crew: "It's so Jill" that's all they had to say and i was sold. We stopped real quick at Trader's Joe for soy milk before heading up to PUC.
Once there Cristy of course opened her room up to us, and perfectly her roommate was gone for the weekend. So arla slept on her bed and i slept on the floor. We chatted for awhile, Cristy totally decorated her room it was pretty, the whole floor was. Anyways, we took a short nap i woke up and made us all go to vespers... i figured we got to, that's like the only time arla would see the church... and plus it was the Christmas concert so it was that bad. It was pouring rain outside got drenched going in, sat down toward the front even though we were pretty late. Happy when it was done, saw Enoch! yay, he's still working up there, saw ashley, lindsey and justin. Didn't talk long to many people wanted mostly to sleep... and headed back to the room. Robert called though right before getting into my pj's saying hey we're coming up with marshall come hangout. So i went down to the lobby chit chatted with the crew. Pam came in and joined our convo along with Kristine whom i saw and hungout with before vespers too. Then we decided to go up after the guys left and i ended up peeping into Pam's room cuz she was telling me how big it was and ended up sitting and talking with her for maybe an hour and a half until her roommate came in, it was pretty cool, we were talking about former good friends and last day events, witnessing to friends, and gyc. I want her to go so much... anyways i finally went back by 1 and knocked out.
The next morning on cue woke up at 7 as usual, even though i was dead tired, got ready for church and we were ready to go to sac by 8:30. The drive was okay long... Arla liked the tunnel of trees in st. helena. Got to doug batchlor's as it started to rain. He did sabbath school as well as second service. Saw mark there talked to him for a bit... during second service SAA played which was heh pretty bad at times lol, but it's all good, Doug preached on what do are u thinking and how u need to harness evil thoughts, keeping ur mind pure etc. Good topic. Oh Cristy's friend andrew sat next to her and invited us for lunch. Very random that we ended up eating there but really good, the guy can cook... heh it was fun, his cat was trying to scratch me though and his nails hurt! we ended up leaving by 2 heading back, Arla wanted to go to elmshaven to see EG White's house. I was torn between going there or ditching them for a little bit to go to Justin's grandfather's memorial. Justin told me about it the night before, but i just felt so bad leaving arla, so of course i thought we can do both, so we went to ellen white's house and i was kind of sad that the regular couple weren't doing the tours i really miss elmshaven people. But the tour was cool nonetheless and the lady was sweet. We got out at about 5 and we rushed up the hill as i was hoping to make the memorial but when we got to the front of the church ppl were already leaving and it was raining a lot the consensus of the car of course was just to go.
Up on the hill i tried to get ppl together for dinner but by the time i called ppl had already eaten or the glendale ppl had plans =(. But i did make plans to see ppl after dinner at least so we headed out for tra viegne. we got the most awesome soup- white bean ministrone... GREAT! me and arla still talked about it on the way down 2 days later... yah that good. we ended up getting full off that and the appetizers and took a bunch of food home. Very tired we got back to the room and wanted to sleep. Stopped by Pam's again, stayed long looking through the yearbook, arla and cristy went off to bed. I found some crazy interesting stuff in there. heh like previous students 1 in particular still attending puc but i know for a fact they're not, kind of upset that they'd make fun of ppl like that filling out their information unbeknownst to them. Anyways, called up robert and marshall, we made plans to go to safeway hah, the only closest place open, Kristine took some time to convince to come but she did and me and pam made a full car. At safeway there were tons of puc ppl roaming the aisles... i really wanted to bake a cake or some kind of dessert but there was nothing vegan and i dono i just really really didn't want to eat something with dairy, i'm not usually so strong on this issue but i was that night. So i ended up just eating fruit with coconut milk and nuts. Good times just hanging out if only for those few hours and if only to safeway. I miss puc. heh. At the top of the hill Robert suggested we go to Justin's to say goodbye so we did... awww i love his dog... it's name is Bouncer! isn't that so cute! it was this furry white thing with so much energy... =) we took pics and said a prayer, his mom came in while we were there too and actually recognized me suprisingly. while we were leaving all of a sudden justin's like no u can't leave my house unless you eat or drink something, so he each gave us tangerine oranges... lol. Headed back to puc, ate our food at newton, saw keith and angie, rodney, allen... dumb tim never showed his face all weekend heh it's okay. slept late again.
sunday me and arla looked online for fun stuff today, found a website showing different sites a particular tour group would follow and we decided to take the same route. We headed out as soon as we could just stopped by at the cafe for granola and jetted. We went through santa rosa and 101, stopped at the petaluma outlets then continued to muir national park. It was so beautiful. Redwood trees looked so majestic, we bought fun books at the gift shop that u could carry in ur pocket that identify animals with their feet tracks and different birds. we didn't stay long cuz we had just a few hours left of daylight hours, so our next stop was salsalito. Very cute town. Didn't find anything to buy but walked around anyway saw this one store that was filled with funny art. There was this frantic shopper looking lady picture that me and arla kept laughing at. then we continued to cross the bridge looking for a hotel. We saw a sweet one finally called the argonaut, with a bay veiw, at first we wanted one facing the bridge but it turned out that it was as nice so we switched and got one facing alcatraz. Next we hurried to pier 39 so we could go through the aquarium before it closed. We had 1 hour left when we got there and at first i didn't think it was worth it but going through the tunnel of fish with no one around and just the calm of it was such a stress reliever, it was so peaceful so chill. Next we walked back and stopped at the ripley's believe it or not museaum which was awesome. there were some weird things in there, i kind of wish we stayed longer now that i think about it, and read all the captions we read most though but at the end we skipped a couple. i've always wanted to go there and now finally i got to with arla yay arla!
We got back to the hotel pretty early. Just cuz the sun goes down early i get this feeling that it's late but ya, we were in the room at like 8:30, we walked around saw the fitness room, got some ice, opened the juice we bought in wine glasses, actually turning out to be somewhat the real thing... (inside story) and we just talked for a long time got super hungry, but my feet hurt too much to make it down to in and out like a block away. so we stared into the the food box in the room craving to eat the food but we ended up calling downstairs and having someone get arla's chips she bought out of our trunk and making them deliver it to our room... let me digress we paid for vallet cuz it was all they had and we had no idea where the car was and that's why we had to ask the hotel ppl to do it for us, okay so we were waiting a long time i ended up falling asleep but i did hear arla open the door in the middle of the night calling my name telling me the chips were here but it was all a blur. But in the morning she told me it was the wrong bag, apparently someone had gotten chips out of the wrong car lol, so she just told them forget it.
The next morning i planned to get a haircut. so we set off for union square via trolly. We bought a day pass and we were gone. we stopped in chinatown and walked a little but it was about 8 in the morning so all the stores were closed. we ended up just walking to union square then i found out i lost the paper where it told us where the salon was. boo... so we just shopped then i called the concierge at the hotel and he gave me directions only to find out they were booked till 11:30. So we just kept walking around saw the heart of the city, on the walk back to chinatown i spotted another salon and they had an opening in 30 min. so we still walked to chinatown but i went back before arla and got a haircut. the lady that did my hair was really nice, she use to live in OC and she was telling me how she liked it better in norcal, i agree, i'd love to be a permanent norcal girl well not completely permanent but i do like it better then socal. i'm kind of growing into my haircut still heh, it was just a spur of the moment i want to cut my hair dealios. The trolly ride back to the hotel was really fun, the car was full so i got to hang out the side. we were so close to the cars going the opposite direction the driver of the trolly would yell out for us to be careful and the little old ladies sitting in front of us would say "watch out girls" aww... heh.
We checked out ASAP since our check out time was 12 and we got there at 12. I'll miss the room it was so nice... the sheets were sooo soft and comfey, like a comforter that i'd have at home, the bathroom soaps were all "designer" we lived it up this weekend and now back to work. We drove all the way back from 12- 5:40 from san fran. I just changed once i got home and went straight to work. Which i still am in. Heh, tonight was a good night, we had a patient that looked really bad and we transfered her to ICU asap, gave report to michelle. we had a family dinner just had pancit tonight, not much veggie, the guys are were with us tonight, not as roudy as they seem when we use to come in for days, but francis just started his joking in the report room so i shall go and have a laugh heh before i gotta finish strong with everything else we still need to do.
Anyways, fun weekend, i love arlene, many good memories.
