So yeah, went to DC today...just as fun as I was hoping it to be and then some! Hehehe, had an awesome time, Catherine showed me the entire National Gallery of Art. That's a really cool place, I liked a LOT of the paintings there (and absolutely hated even more, but it was that type of hate that you have not because it's a shit painting, but you don't like how it portrays something....I dunno, hard to explain), and think that I could really get into this whole art thing. Before hand, we went to the Hirshorn, explored all of that. Saw Ron Muec's stuff...cool sculptures. Look really, REALLY real and are all really big or really small. Then went downstairs to the "Minimalist" exhibit. I went in there expecting "Man, I hate this crap, none of this stuff is actually gonna be art, this is "arts snob's art" (art that only art experts like), but I was actually pleased to find a few things in there I really liked. Oh yeah, also saw a really bitchingly awesome Dali painting (Zerwerarber's Skull (can't remember what the first word is)) and two peices by this guy that looks kinda like Dali's stuff, I liked it. Art can be really cool!
So in summary, had an awesome afternoon (even saw a random protest rally that Catherine and I joined in)...and that's that!

In other news, I started re-reading 1984 after all the thought I've put into it, and you know what? Page 20 and I'm already starting to get abysmally depressed by it again. The book is amazing, if you haven't read it, go do it now. I think that the thought I've put into it has actually made it's affect on me worse now that I'm re-reading it, ah well. Gonna finish reading it over this/next week and then see how I feel. (If I seem morose for the next few days, that's prolly why). Oh yeah, license in 3 days (starting in 1.5 hours)! Really excited! Ok, this post is long enough, back to depressing myself with 1984!
