where did the time go?

May 27, 2005 14:34

it was raining on and off that day. i didn't have a video camera like many others so i don't remember many of the details of what occured @school although i do remember the feeling i had and the night of that big day. by that time most of my friends had branched off and i'd find myself skipping just about the end of every class and hiding out in the titan shoppe, bandroom or the attendance office... so i could hangout and talk to chelsea... til the last bell would ring. at the end of english i'd leave and walk down to the photo room because chelsea and some others were always there. art was my final class of the day and for the last 2 months of school after the first 10 mins into the hour... you'd never find me in the art room... but in the attendance office. chelsea was the best friend i had senior year... she told it how it was and didn't give a crap about anything or anybody at stevenson for that fact. she and i would always leave school between 1:10 and 1:20, never at 1:32 always right after saying bye to javi before he hopped back on the bus back to utica. i remained close to her because she was my only link to the friends i had outside of stevenson and she was the funniest person i knew. the final bell rang... papers went flying everywhere... the halls were trashed... kids were screaming running out to the cars and then the honking began. that was one of the best but weirdest feelings in the world... me, chelsea and duck escaped. i told my friend goodbye and we'd see eachother on tuesday and saturday and i drove away with the class of 2003 tassel hanging from my rearview mirror.

i was already on the phone with krissy and she was on her way over to my house. we watched her videotape of the her elementary kids saying goodbye to her and the footage of what had happened over @utica... while stevenson's frenzy was going down. after we went to her house... and then matt's. the only other things i remember of that day are hanging out and eating pizza with krissy, matt and eric at matt's house, eric was wearing his lime green (yellow) shirt and stephanie had called me on elissa's phone 2 or 3 times. all i do remember is that day seemed like a lifetime ago and i guess in a way it was. after going to gianna's choir concert this week, pulling into utica highschool and hearing the soph's and jr's sing "will you remember me" to the class of 2005 during the slide show... i felt old and i didn't even goto utica!!! all that was running through my head was where did it all go? what did i do? more importantly... who did i do it all with? i watched dougie across the street pull into the driveway with his painted car around 2:00 after hearing the honkings 3 blocks away at stevenson. this sunny day was the class of 2005's last day. congratulations!:)

2 years ago today... was my last day of highschool. 2 years ago last week i went to cedar point with my best friends on skip day. 2 years ago next week... i went to prom... walked across the stage and received my diploma and stayed up to "party" all night with the stevenson senior class of 2003. 2 summers ago i had my grad party... and went to more than i had ever been to in one summer! 2 summers ago i went to alaska, vancouver and seattle on what was by far the best trip ever. 2 summers ago... i started at cmu and started a next chapter of my life- COLLEGE. now... i am in the middle of this chapter and am 1 1/2- 2 years away from beggining the next... MY INDEPENDENT GROWN UP LIFE. it's amazing what a difference 4 years can make.

it hits you right there... doesn't it?
now... it looks as if it's about to rain... weird.
