Holy shitz0rs, Batman! I guess it's a damn good thing I wasn't here a bit ago; while my Dad/Boss and I were gone to lunch (yeah yeah, you can say I'm always "out to lunch"), apparently a little fire broke out. (/Me is DEATHLY afraid of fire - I must have died in one in a previous life.) @_@
What caught fire, you ask? Well, it was the Pepsi machine! ONG...NOOOOEES! Not my Diet Pepsi! ;_; Anyway, it's downstairs, near the Lab area and Factory (keep in mind: we are a paint manufacturing company); and I guess someone heard a loud pop, then they could smell something hot upstairs (in the office area), and couldn't figure out why. Then, someone came out of the Factory or whatnot, and saw smoke and flames coming out the bottom of the machine. EEEEEEEEEEP! Of course, we have fire extinguishers up the yin-yang here (have to, obviously), and they put it out, but now the machine is shot. No real damage, other than the machine and the wall socket it was plugged into is a little melted, but uhm...if it had happened when nobody was here...OMFG that would be SOOOOO BAD. Laboratory & Factory: LOTS OF VOLATILE CHEMICALS EVERYWHERE. And yes, we do have an alarm system and sprinklers (and we have frequent Fire Department inspections), but still...egad! Sometimes I think God conveniently averts a crisis or times it so it is minimal. And good thing it wasn't when I was down there buying pop (OMG! I killed Pepsi!), 'cause I was down there this morning buying a Mountain Dew (because my Pepsi was all gone! Waaaah!), I would have pissed and crapped myself, for sure. Kind of like when The Sims panic, LMAO.
I guess the Pepsi machine filler-upper guy came a bit before then, but everything was fine, but WTF? Now we have no pop, unless I go over to our store and buy it. (It's only 55 cents per can! WoooT!) I dun' wun' no scorchied pop!
Course now it is a bit stinky up here and smells like hot electrical downstairs, but thank ye Gods it's not worse. Seriously. All we will need is a new pop machine, possibly a little electrical fix, and a refilled extinguisher.
So, yeah, coming back from Lunch was super exciting; at least it wasn't to be met with firetrucks, though. Although it's been nearly a year since we *did* have that incident with our guy Don (who still isn't able to work, but can drive again and stops by to visit often). So, yeah. Too much excitement here, geesh!
I am so ready for the weekend now; thinking that
ashjulall and I are going to start our really long training walks over the weekend. We'll be having to do walks in the 10+ mile range. (Which, at about a 3 MPH pace, would only take a few hours or so.) But, I think we're ready for that now, after so many shorter walks building up our endurance. I still can't believe I'm going to be walking 60 miles in 3 consecutive days! @_@
I guess that's about it; I'm gonna likely have less time to post starting in July, though, at least, from work, as I am taking over duties from our front desk lady, who is going part-time now. So, yeah. I'm the "Master of Multi-tasking", though, so I may be able to pull off updates as needed I'm able to. That's all!
