Jan 22, 2007 11:14

so i realized that this LJ is a big form of communication between some of my friends and me and that I had been falling down on the job with updating for about 6 months now. so i'm trying again, starting with one of these fun little thingies.

4. Did anyone close to you die? my grandmother died in September

5. What countries did you visit? none.

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006? more joy and more consistancy

7. What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? the entire month of March 2006 was significant because i went throught a lot.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? standing up to my mom and actually going through with my transfer to UNC.

9. What was your biggest failure? I didn't respect myself enough by demanding the respect of others- I lay down when I should have stood up for myself and I let myself down.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? I had a toooomah (tumor) and got about 500 colds and got a lot of random camp-related injuries.

11. What was the best thing you bought? a new CD player for my car after mine got stolen.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration? that of my lovelies Laura and Lana (who always bring me joy) that of my wonderful siblings (who are always amazing), Rosa Lee, and Lauren, Erin, and Becca.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? mostly my moms and sometimes my own and sometimes there were others.

14. Where did most of your money go? my unhealthy obsession with J CREW, food, going on adventures (key west, myrtle beach).

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? coming to UNC.

16. What song will always remind you of 2006? there are too many.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? MUCH happier.
ii. thinner or fatter? maybe a little thinner.
iii. richer or poorer? i hate thinking about money...

18. What do you wish you'd done more of? being happy, being helpful

19. What do you wish you'd done less of? worrying/being anxious

20. How will you be spending Christmas? Spent it with family and friends.

22. Did you fall in love in 2006? no.

23. How many one-night stands? haha...

24. What was your favorite TV program? grey's got me through the summer and i fell in love with sports night and studio 60.

30. What was your favorite film of this year? the departed.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? 20, i worked and then came home to some madness and then escaped with the wonderfully awesome Rosa Lee.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? more honesty, more communication, more understanding.

38. Who was the best new person you met? my new friends at carolina are AMAZING!

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2006.
reslilience is one of the keys to happiness. also, you have to be brave and take chances if you really want something. that might sound lame, but its amazing how many people don't realize it. i would rather live an exciting life with lots of ups and downs instead of a mediocre existance full of "what-ifs" and missed opportunities.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
It takes a night to make it dawn
And it takes a day to make you yawn brother
And it takes some old to make you young
It takes some cold to know the sun
It takes the one to have the other

And it takes no time to fall in love
But it takes you years to know what love is
It takes some fears to make you trust
It takes those tears to make it rust
It takes the dust to have it polished

Ha la la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la la life goes full circle
Ah la la la la la la life is so full of
Ah la la la la la la life is so rough
Ah la la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la la life goes full circle
Ah la la la la la la life is our love
Ah la la la la la
