Chapter One: My Fiancée?

“Jin-chan, are you ready?” his mom called.

“Hai,” Jin answered.

Jin fixed his necktie and combed his hair. He got out of his room and went downstairs. His family is going to a party. Well, not exactly just a party but an engagement party.

“I thought you’re ready but look at your necktie,” his mom said, while fixing her son’s necktie.

“Mom, you look more excited than I do,” Jin said.

“But dear I am excited. This night, my son will meet his future wife,” his mom said excitedly. “At last I’m going to have a grandchild,” she added, as she giggles.

“Mom, stop it. We still don’t know what she looks like, and… and… why are now thinking about having a grandchild, huh?” Jin asked suddenly.

“Well, it’s been so long since the last time I hear you giggle when you were a child. I miss those times when you’re calling me, ‘Kaa-chan’. Wahh~~ cho kawaii,” his mom giggles as she reminisce Jin’s childhood days.

Jin sighed and said, “Mom, stop dreaming”. But his mom is not paying attention as she’s saying, “Kaa-chan” repetitively, imitating Jin’s way of saying it before.

“Calling you ‘Mom’ is also the same as ‘Ka-chan’ so you don’t need to do that,” Jin said.

His mom stops on saying “Kaa-chan” and looked at his son. “Mou~~, ‘Kaa-chan’ is cuter than ‘Mom’. And hearing you calling me ‘Mom’, makes me look like old,” his mom said.

“But you’re old, right?” Jin joked.

“Mou~~ Jin-chan, you’re so mean to your on mother,” his mom pouted.

Jin smiled and said, “I’m just joking. Of course you’re still young; you’re only 44 years old. Anyway, if we’re not going to leave now, we’re going be late for the party”.

“Oh, yeah the party, I almost forgot about it,” his mom said.

Jin’s mom was married very early. She was only 20 years when she got married. Jin’s father died from a heart attack when he was only 6 years old. His mom raised him with all the love his mother could give. Although his mom acts like a child sometimes, he still loves her as much as his mother loves him.

When they arrived at the place, Jin couldn’t control the nervousness he was feeling. His heart beats faster and faster as they went inside the restaurant. Jin looked around and he was mesmerized at the classy looked of the restaurant. He looked at the dining table and he saw the rich people laughing and talking. He felt so insecure, all of a sudden. Then, his mom grabbed his hand and walk towards an empty table as the waiter guided them.

“Do you want to order now, ma’am, sir?” the waiter asked.

“Not yet, we are still waiting for somebody,” Jin’s mom said. Then, the waiter bowed and left them.

“Mom, are you sure we are in the right place?” Jin asked.

“Yes, dear. Why did you asked?” his mom questioned him back.

“Well, it’s so fancy in here,” Jin said.

“Of course, this is a fancy restaurant. Anyway, where could they be?” his mom said.

After ten minutes of waiting, the people whom they await had arrived. They walked straight to the table where Jin and his mother are.

“Sorry for being late. We waited for our son to come home first before we come here,” a lady with a very fair skinned said.

“Oh, it’s alright,” Jin’s mom said.

“Now, let’s start to order,” a man in a tuxedo said as he’s calls the waiter.

They ordered and after a few minutes the foods they ordered had arrived. As they were eating, Jin couldn’t get out of his sight the chair that is in front of him. He was curious on where could his ‘soon-to-be-fiancée’ be. It bothers him a lot so he asked the two couple.

“Ano~~, sorry for being rude but where is your daughter?” Jin asked.

The couple looked at each other and gave a small chuckled. “What are you talking about? We don’t have a daughter, dear,” the lady answered.

“Eh?” Jin said then he looked at his mom.

“Mom, I’m sorry I’m late,” a young man said as he approached his empty seat.

Jin looked at the young man. He couldn’t utter a word as he was shocked on what he heard before and what he’s seeing right now.

“Now mom, who is this girl you’re talking about?” the young man asked his mother.

“Dear, this is Jin,” his mother said as she introduces Jin to him.

“And Jin, my son. This is Kazuya,” Jin’s mother said to his son.

Jin and Kazuya looked at each other and said in unison, “WHAT!!!”
