Chapter Seven: Reiko and Her Insensitive Side
“I think you’re… you’re overreacting,” Kame nervously said, right after Reiko slammed the door.
Reiko glared. “I’m overreacting?” she pointed to herself.
Kame slowly nodded. “You-you shouldn’t have acted like that. I mean, you shouldn’t have poured cold water and ice to them. I-It’s-,” he gulped. “It’s quite harsh.”
Reiko creased her forehead. “Kazuya, I was just doing what I think is right,” she explained as they walked towards the living room.
“But is it right to throw a bucket of ice cubes or a bucket of cold water to them, while they are sleeping?” Kame asked. He wants to point out that what Reiko had done was beyond the limits.
“I don’t understand you. Why are you defending them?” Reiko sighed. “They made a mistake. And I don’t think that, what I have done was wrong or harsh. And besides, can you tolerate something like this?”
Kame sighed. Reiko was really stubborn when it comes to this kind of situations. “Ok, fine. Just don’t do anymore unnecessary things, ok?”
“Whatever. Just let me handle this,” Reiko said as she sat down on the sofa.
“What are you gonna do next?” Kame asked as he looked down on Reiko.
“Oh, nothing,” Reiko crossed her legs. “I’ll just interrogate Jin, that’s all”.
Kame shook his head and then, sighed. “This is useless. I don’t know what’s the point of doing all these things”. He sat next to Reiko. He, then, placed his fingers on his temple, massaging it slowly. “Argh… my head hurts just by thinking about our situation right now”.

After minutes of waiting, there’s still no sign of Jin.
“What’s taking Jin so long?” Reiko complained to Kame.
Kame just shrugged as a response.
“Argh! JIN!! GET YOUR IDIOTIC SELF OUT HERE!!” Reiko shouted.
Jin heard her cousin’s fuming call. “I think we should stop,” he said as he tried to stop the woman from kissing his lips hungrily.
“Why?” the woman asked madly.
“Didn’t you hear my cousin’s angry voice?” Jin said as he reached for his shirt.
The woman placed her hands to hips. “So? Let her get mad. We’re having fun here”. Then, she raised her eyebrow. “And besides, you act like you’re scared of her”.
“Yes, I’m scared of her. Didn’t you felt traumatized on what she had done awhile ago?”
The woman hugged Jin from the back. “Jin, no matter what she do to us, as long as we’re together it’s ok, right?”
Jin let go from the woman’s hug. He had enough of her. She’s too clingy and acts as if they are lovers, even though they’re obviously not. “You know, let’s just leave”.
“Leave? Where are we going?” The woman suddenly felt interested. “Ah… you want us to be alone, don’t you? So, your cousin won’t bother us again. Oh, Jin you’re so great”.
Jin creased his forehead. “No, what I meant was, we are going to leave my room and go to the living room”.
“Oh… why don’t we just ditch them?” The woman placed her arms around Jin’s neck. “And let’s just enjoy the day together”.
For the second time, Jin resist from tolerating the woman’s plan. He release himself from the woman’s hug and led himself to the door.
The woman rolled her eyes in dismay. She stand there for a moment before following Jin through the living room.
When they reached the living room, they saw Reiko’s annoyed face and Kame’s straight face. Jin suddenly felt a loud beat from his heart followed by fast ones. Over the years, Jin knows how Reiko show her anger and it’s really unpleasant.
“What took you so long?” Reiko suddenly said as she stood up with her arms crossed.
“We…” Jin gulped.
“We?” Reiko asked curiously. Then, she noticed the woman standing beside Jin. “Oh… so the slut is still here”.
“Hey! How many times do I have to tell you, I’m not a slut!” the woman defended.
Reiko scoffed. “Yeah, yeah. Whatever. And what are you still doing here? Didn’t I told you to leave already?”
“Nope. I didn’t heard it,” the woman tried to act innocent. She sat at the sofa placed across where Reiko and Kame’s sitting. “So, what now?”
Reiko glared at the woman. She felt her blood quickly gushing throughout her body. She wants to punch the woman so badly but she tried to act calm. “Jin, why don’t you tell me how THIS person get in here”.
Jin sat down beside the woman. He opened his mouth to say something but he couldn’t find the right words, so he closed it again.
“Jin, I’m waiting,” Reiko said.
The woman suddenly wrapped her arms on Jin’s neck and whispered, “Jin, tell her everything. Even the ‘you-know-what’ that we did last night”. Then she gave a lustful smirked.
Jin quickly removes the woman’s arms around his neck. It’s clear to him that the woman was so into him. “It’s-I-Actually-,” he was completely lost of words.
“I don’t understand what you are saying. So speak up clearly,” Reiko commanded.
Jin kept quiet for awhile, trying to figure out how he will explain everything to Reiko without making her angrier. Then, the woman starts clinging on Jin again. Reiko gave a very furious look to the woman. She had enough of her, really enough of her.
“Jin~,” the woman called as she touched Jin’s hair.
Reiko clenched her fist so tightly, making it tremble. “Kazuya, please stop me or else I’ll kill this person”.
Kame, who’s clearly keeping his silence to himself and obviously out of place, looked at Reiko and placed his hand over her trembling fist. “Just calm down”.
“Kame, I just can’t calm down. This whore will kill me for giving me a heart attack. Look at her, look how she clings on Jin. Will you let this thing pass?” Reiko reasoned out. Little did she know, the woman a.k.a ‘the slut/whore’ heard her.
The woman stood up and walked towards where Reiko was sitting. “First, you called me a slut. Then, now you’re telling me I’m a whore?”
Reiko stood and bluntly said, “Yeah, so? What’s the difference anyway? It’s still you”
The woman attempt on slapping Reiko. But unfortunately for her, Reiko quickly blocked her hand and gave her a very intense slapped.
“Don’t act as if you’re somebody else in this house, because you are not. And don’t act as if you’re Jin’s girlfriend,” Reiko gave her a death glare. “Because you’re NOT and NEVER WILL BE”.
Tears start to form in the woman’s eyes. “You don’t have the right to say that. Jin and I love each other,” she said as she controls her tears not to roll down from her cheeks.
Reiko raised her eyebrows. “How sure are you?”
“Very, very sure,” the woman answered.
“Yeah, right,” Reiko scoffed. “Jin would never love someone like you. I think you’re the only one who thinks that you love each other”.
“No, I know Jin loves me. Because if he doesn’t, then there’s no reason for us to do such intimate things,” the woman reasoned out as she broke herself into tears.
Reiko felt a little pity on the woman. So, she tried to calm herself and also tried not to argue with her anymore. “Let me clear everything for you, once and for all,” Reiko took a deep breath. “First, Jin doesn’t like or even love you. He just simply used you for fun and nothing else. Second, Jin is no longer allowed to have any relationship to any woman. Simply because, he has already a fiancé”.
“A fiancée?” the woman stopped on crying. “But Jin never told me that he have a fiancée”.
“If you think I’m joking,” Reiko said. “Then why don’t you asked him,” she pointed at her cousin.
The woman asked Jin if it’s true and Jin nodded. She cried as she realized that there’s nothing really going on between them. Kame felt sad for the woman. It’s really heartbreaking to see a woman expecting her love to be returned by the person she loves.
The woman fell from her knees. “Why Jin? Why didn’t you tell me that you already have a fiancée? Why?” the woman asked as she sobbed hard.
Jin bit his lips. He didn’t imagine that it’s gonna be like this. What he imagined was, Reiko was scolding them for who-knows-how-long and not seeing the woman crying in front of him. Jin knelt down and tried to make the woman stand up. “Look, I didn’t mean to hurt you. Actually, I really didn’t imagine that you have feelings for me. I thought we are the same. That everything we do, doesn’t really mean anything for both of us. So, I’m really sorry if I hurt you”.
The woman shook her head. “I should be the one apologizing. I shouldn’t assume that we both love each other. I guess I was carried away by the way you treat me”.
“Yeah, in bed,” Reiko suddenly gave a side comment.
“You know, you’re a nice woman. You should find someone else,” Jin said.
“Someone to flirt to,” Reiko gave a side comment again.
Kame looked at her. “Reiko will please stop for a minute”.
“Fine. Whatever,” Reiko respond.
After a few minutes, the woman bid goodbye with a promise that she will never disturb Jin again.
“Phew! I thought for a second that she wouldn’t leave,” Reiko said as she flopped down at the sofa feeling relieve.
Jin and Kame wants to talk to Reiko more about her misbehavior but they decided not too. They know that no matter what they say Reiko won’t even dare to listen to them. She will only keep defending herself until she finally prove to them that she was right.
Kame and Jin looked at each other and sighed.
~*~
Kame had just finished reading his book and was about to sleep when he heard someone was knocking on his door. He was planning to open the door but decided not to. He lay down on his bed and cover himself with his blanket.
Jin was knocking at Kame’s door. He wants to know if the young man was still awake or not. He just want to talk to someone and to apologize to Kame for what he had seen that morning. He sighed, he assumed that Kame might be sleeping by now or Kame might be angry at him.
“Kame, if you’re still awake or not, well, I just wanted to say I’m sorry for what had happened this morning. I realized that I was a big jerk for bringing a woman here last night. I’m so sorry,” Jin said loudly, so that, if Kame is still awake he could hear him. Jin waited outside Kame’s room for a few minutes. Waiting for something to happen. But noticing that nothing will happen, he said, “I guess I have to repeat everything I said, tomorrow”.
Jin had started walking when he felt the door on Kame’s room opened. He turned around to see Kame standing laying his back at the door frame. “You don’t have to repeat everything you said. I heard it loud and clear. And also, you don’t have to apologize. I’m not angry at you,” Kame said.
Jin walked close to him and asked, “Really?”
“Yup! And don’t think that you’re a big jerk, ‘coz I’m also a jerk,”
Jin creased his forehead.
“Because, you wouldn’t invite that woman if I didn’t keep you out of my room,” Kame explained. “I’m sorry for not listening to you”.
Jin smiled and shook his head. “No, don’t be sorry. I know you didn’t mean it”.
Kame smiled. “You want to come in?”
“But you said I’m-” Jin was suddenly cut off.
“Forget what I said, ok?”
“But”
“I can’t afford to have another fuming Reiko shouting all day giving sermon on the woman you’re going to bring and for the both of us,” Kame said. “So are you coming in or not?”
Jin gleefully smiled. “Of course, I would love too”. He entered to room but on to stop when he realized something. “Uhmm… does this mean, I can sleep here?”
Kame lay down on the side of the bed. “Yup, why you don’t want to?”
“Of course, I do,” Jin said as he quietly closed the door and slowly lay down on the other side of the bed. Before he went to sleep, he let out a relief sighed. He slept with a satisfied look on his face.
Kame turned his whole body to face Jin. He smiled at the pleasing look of the older man. “I think it’s better to have someone to sleep beside you”. Then he realized what he had said in his mind. He gave a ‘what-am-I-thinking’ look. Then after a few minutes, Kame fall asleep while looking at Jin’s face.
