Just another extract from the John Barrowman interview, in issue 357 of the Doctor Who Magazine, I believe this issue is only on sale for 2 more days, so hurry up and buy it:-) WH Smith in Cardiff still had quite a few copies left today.

“If fame comes with Doctor Who, you’d better believe that I’ll be ecstatic! That’s one of the perks. I’ll get tables at restaurants without even making reservations! I’ll get upgraded!”!
John Barrowman, then, is ready to be adored. “BRING IT ON!” he purrs. “I just hope I can appeal.”
Well, lock up your sons! Lock up your daughters! But some actors, I point out, pretend not to give two jots about appealing to the public in that way.
“That’s rubbish,” he retorts. “If you’re a good-looking man or women, and your playing roles where you’re dressed appealingly, then you’re going to be looked at as being some kind of sexual thing, right? Excuse me, but bring it on! I’d love to be people’s fantasies. Yeah! Why wouldn’t you want to be? My God, if someone said, ‘You could be every man and woman’s fantasy, every man and woman who’s watching Doctor Who,’ would you not go, ‘Cool!’…? Actually I’m nude in one episode,” he winks, but keeps a straight face. “Believe it, I am, and that’s all I’m going to say.
You’re kidding, right?
“I have no problems about being nude,” he shrugs. “I have no qualms about that at all. It’s all part of the business of being adored. Jeez, as long as people don’t become weird or anything! If they become weirdoes, that will worry me. That’s when my family will get worried: if I start getting adored by stalkers.”

“But don’t confuse the two - Captain Jack is not John Barrowman, that’s the thing. I am an actor, I create different people,” he grins rather impishly, “but dammit, I want to be everybody’s fantasy!”

“Oh, hell yes, I love that idea! I want to be an icon. I want to be a fantasy. Oh yeah,” he says in a loud, deep, triumphant voice, “for husbands and wives…”
