To Do lists...

Last night, I did something I've always wanted to do:

I jumped in the canal (fully clothed!) on Smith Mall!!

It was great! A little cold, but great. And I had an amazing night. That's all I'll say about that.

But, since I did that, I decided to think about other things I had done and wished I had done during my time here at UIndy.

So, first the list compiled by OAs and Ambassadors and other people -- let's see how I match up!


*1. Visit every building on campus.
2. Visit the observatory.
*3. Go to a Late Night even on campus.
4. Learn the univeristy fight song.
*5. Sit along the canal on Smith Mall at sunset
*6. Attend Midnight Breakfast before finals.
*7. Have a 2 a.m. breakfast at Steak n Shake or Denny's -- only if drunk
*8. Ace at least one class.
*9. Hum along with the chimes of the Bell Tower.
*10. Get to know a professor so well he/she invites you to dinner -- Well I did have dinner at Dee's house, and Dr. McGann invited me to her home in Bloomington...
*11. Skip a class to do something fun on a warm, sunny Spring day.
*12. Eat an entire pizza by yourself late at night while cramming for a test - just the tostinos ones!
*13. Attend a Greyhound game for each of the sports
*14. Bowl at Shelby Bowl - Go Mighty Orange Woodchucks!
*15. Fall asleep in the library, panic that someone saw you with your mouth agape -- oh yeah!
*16. Study abroad or take a spring term travel trip, if possible - does Iowa/Minnesota/Nebraska count?
*17. See your text books at the end of the semester, blow all the money on a blizzard at DQ.
*18. Write a letter to the editor of the Reflector -- ahh the joys...
*19. Fall helplessly in love, get dumped and recover -- umm, yes?
*20. Be on a first name basis with Ted Polk, a vice president or a professor - or all of them?
*21. Have the courage of your convictions to participate in a heated debate in one of your classes - Anthropology, that was fun...
*22. Go on a road trip during Spring Break - Oklahoma and Pittsburgh, woot!
*23. Live on campus or spend the night in a residence hall at least once -- 3 years, and back again!
24. Bring a date on picnic to Garfield part (off shelby)
*25. Take part in a community service project - or a lot of them!
*26. Call your parents or family memeber and tell them you love them
*27. Go back and visit your high school - and realize everyone you loved there is GONE...and move on.
*28. Prepare to pull an all-nighter by drinking three mountian dews and two cups of coffee; accomplish nothing due to an inability to sit still. - or maybe take some caffeine pills and freak out...
*29. Go to Hollywood bar and filmworks to see a midnight showing of rocky horror picture show - haha that was a great night!
*30. Visit Oliver Winery and do some wine tasting - MMM birthday!
31. Go camping at Brown County state park
*32. Attend a Crimson Express concert; hum along - maybe I knew the words better than the guy on stage? yeah, that's right!
*33. Go to a U of I theatre production and music recital -- all the time!
*34. Get your parents Uindy sweatshirts or t-shirts
*35. Play a game of pool in schwitzer student center
36. Have a giant tenderloin or hamburger at the shelby street diner - hey I wanna do this!
*37. Visit a museum or the zoo in downtown Indy - yay for sisters!
*38. Tell yourself how brilliant you are - oh yeah baby!
*39. Commit to memory at least one poem of your choice
*40. Decide absolutely your mission in life, change it five times - haha, hell yeah!
*41. Take a grad. entrance exam in a subject you have studied -- the GRE sucked ass!
*42. Say thank you to your fav. prof. -- all the time!
*43. Go to a theatre in downtown indy (Naked Boys Singing @ The Phoenix)
*44. Learn to play a musical instrument or take an art class - I *heart* ceramics!
*45. keep a diary
*46. Make a meal that requires a cookbook and doesnt come from a box or the freezer section - I love to cook!
*47. Volunteer to meet with a high school student visiting the campus
*48. Attend a student government meeting - 3 years straight, damnit!
*49. Take a course just for fun - that's ceramics!
*50. Take a stroll along the canal in downtown indy -.
*51. Stay up all night arguing about important issues on life - just last night!
*52. Find a job or graduate school - IU here I come!
*53. Attend an indians, colts or pacers game - all three!
*54. Attend all the commencement week events
*55. Attend at least one international flag cermony .
*56. Help a freshman who is lost - yeah, I was an Orientation Assistant, so I helped a million lost freshmen
57. Listen to a weekly program on our radio station-WICR 88.7 FM
*58. Meet up with your university friends over the summer
*59. Sit in the hound pound section during a basketball or football game
*60. Attend the President's Convocation
*61. Get a 3.0 GPA at least one semester
*62. Do something nice for a staff member in the physical plant of food services - baked cookies! (although that was before the gay cookies)
*63. Join at least one club or organization on campus - and be in charge of a few
*64. Praticipate in an intramural sport - I was a Circle K cheerleader, does that count?
*65. Tell yourself you can never have too many friends and continue to meet new people - I love people!
*66. Be an OA or an ambassador - Oh yeah!
*67. Work on campus - Math Lab rawks!
*68. Share a meal with friends at the annual Thanksgiving meal hosted by PFS
*69. Volunteer for the move-in crew the day freshman move in - OAs don't volunteer....they are voluntold. *love this one Christian, I'm keeping it*
*70. Attend a festival downtown
*71. Read a book by an author youve never heard of
*72. Make a midnight run to White Castle and then regret it - umm I did this before and will never do it again
*73. Plan to go to bed early and then end up staying up late talking with your roomie
*74. Sit quietly and alone in the chapel or the mediation room
*75. Have a movie night that lasts into the next morning - Midnight Librarians? What?
*76. Spend time at a CDFAC art exhibit
*77. Get to know a univeristy staff member
*78. Really "Be there" for a friend who needs it
*79. Visit Broad Ripple - and maybe get drunk in the process
*80. Play a game of ultimate frisbee on smith mall - hey i donated the glow in the dark john mayer frisbee
*81. Play one memorable practical joke.
*82. Visit the alumni website
83. Attend a free "dinner with 10 greyhounds" sponsored by the SAA, this is a great networking opportunity with an alumnus in your chosen field
*84. Hang out in the "egg" chairs in the library - definitely fell asleep
*85. Attend class the day before a vacation because sometimes the prof. will give bonus points.
86. Have sunday brunch at one of the downtown hotels
*87. See the following "classic" films: Hoosiers, American Graffiti, The Graduate, Casablanca, Citzen Kane, Breakfast Club, the entire star wars series -- umm Breakfast Club what what?
*88. Bring someone for kids and sibs weekend - once!
*89. Sign up to recieve the monthly alumni e-news to stay in touch with campus news
*90. Get dressed up for a special night downtown
*91. Attend Tuesday 50 cent movie night at movies 8.
*92. Say thank you to Ted Polk - and Chef Dan...and June...and Lisa...and the other Lisa...
93. Make a donation to a senior class gift to the university
*94. Get a greyhound license plate -- soon, with the new car
*95. Go to Wal-mart at 2 am -- all the time to see the wal-martians!
*96. Write a letter to your parents thanking them for getting you where you are today.
*97. Introduce yourself to the University president -- I miss Jerry!
*98. Flirt with someone "anonymously" - well, I did send a secret valentine to HFG - hott foreign guy!
*99. Be able to explain the "universal continuum" statue to visitors on campus - I
100. Start saving for retirement - yeah and not pay bills? ha

It's 90 by the way.

So then, that inspired me to make a list of things I want to do before I leave Indy at the end of July. So here it goes, and it will probably be edited along the way:


*go swing dancing/get lessons
*go to the city market
*eat at Pepe's Grill at 3am
*learn to play euchre
*ride the bikes/boats on the canal
*go to the art museum
*go to the Children's Museum
*see the sunset from the Rooftop Grill
*visit Easley Winery
*eat at Edward's Drive-In
*walk part of the Monon Trail
*go to the Jazz Festival (see Herbie Hancock!)
*go to an Indianapolis Fever game
*see the Symphony
*go to Indy Pride
*go salsa dancing/get lessons (plans for Jenny's birthday, but I need a dancing partner!)
*go on a picnic
*watch a movie on the lawn at White River State Park
*design a t-shirt at the Teeki Hut
*learn the love shack dance
*line dance at the eight-second saloon *shudder*
*go to the RCA Championships (tennis)
*make wine at Grape Expectations
*visit Clay Terrace

So, if you think I should add something to this list, please let me know! And, if you want to join me (I don't want to do all these things alone!), tell me and we can make plans!
