My weekend began in a very frustrating way. As usual, I was at Zahra's with Renee for our private lesson with her, and I had asked before if we could work on sword this time. Well, I couldn't keep the daggone thing on my head. I seriously wanted to cry, I was getting so frustrated. This was alleviated a trifle by the fact that Zahra pointed out it was my sword, and when she tried it, she couldn't keep it on her head, either. But that just set the tome for the rest of the morning. Two hours of me sucking.
However, on the way home, as soon as we cleared the crest in Palmdale, we saw that it was snowing. Now, this is hardly the first time it has snowed here in the Antelope Valley, but all afternoon on Friday, and for much of the afternoon on Saturday, it was a beautiful, gentle snowfall. Usually, it's just a flurry of snow, and then it's done. But this was so pretty, even with some hail mixed in. It didn't stick too much, except for on the literal piles of crap in my backyard.
I stood at my sliding glass door watching it fall, and watching a cute little birdy perched on one of my new Una/Gerhart rosebushes. It was so peaceful. Somehow, it no longer mattered that I couldn't dance with a sword on my head.
