Though she'd spent God knows how many hours helping Carson with his research into the people on the island who looked alike and though she'd dated a man who'd adjusted just fine to seeing a younger version of himself running around, the idea of her very own clone was bothering Jill deeply. She'd already warned Mayko about the other woman and she'd sort of admitted to Rodney that the idea unsettled her, but she hadn't really come clean about just how much it bothered her.
After a year and a half on the island, such a thing shouldn't have come as a surprise to her, but it had taken her off guard anyway. There was a woman on this island and she had Jill's face. More than that, she knew many of the people Jill knew and it was irrational, but she felt convinced that she was about to be replaced.
She wasn't a woman who needed reassurances. She didn't often look to her friends to tell her that they cared about her or that they wanted her around, but right now she needed it and while Mayko and Rodney had already both told her in so many words that she had nothing to worry about, she still felt strange.
That was probably why she was sitting in the clinic, waiting for Carson to arrive.
