1. *grins* I got this one because it reminded me of all the crazy plot bunnies my brain comes up with - I manage to appease one and ten more pop up and won't leave me alone! Oy vey!
2. This one is a quote from the movie Serenity which I'm a huge fan of and I really liked Wash (*sniff*). The kooky randomness of the quote really appealed to me and I like to use the icon when I'm feeling silly for whatever reason. Unfortunately I don't remember who/where I got it from and I didn't credit it, bad Jillian! Ah well, if you're out there and recognize your work, you did a good job. XD
3. FullMetal Alchemist FTW! Roy Mustang and Riza Hawkeye are two of my favorite characters in the manga and together they are pure badass. I like the fact that despite having no alchemic powers Riza still manages to hold her own in a fight and be very much Roy's equal. The traditional, shy, helpless manga heroine really grates on my feminist nerves, which is partly why I enjoy Hiromu Arakawa's work - her female characters, Riza, Winry, Olivia Armstrong, etc; are all people you don't want to mess with.
4. I've been a bit of Rommel fangirl since about the tender age of 6 when my dad, a social studies teacher and librarian, let me watch a documentary about him. I always admired the fact that amidst all the cruelty and barbarism of the Third Reich, Rommel managed to remain a decent, honorable man who stuck to his principles even in the face of disapproval from some of the most powerful members of the Nazi government. Plus he was completely BADASS as general - crazy like a fox as the saying goes. :D I got this off of DeviantArt originally and it was made by Insitutional-Madness.
5. I found this one right after I finished my Garth Nix fanfic, my very first fanfic, and I wanted something that was sort of Old Kingdom trilogy based. The rocks with the setting sun behind then, in addition to being beautiful, look sort of like Charter Stones to me. Looking at it makes me feel sort of peaceful and serene. Made by magic_art
