So two and a half months ago, when Alisa moved in, we had a major accident involving her scanner/printer/copier that left it in several distinctly separate pieces on the front sidewalk. Since nothing had actually broken, (everything came apart at the seams, even the glass only popped out) we gathered up the pieces and decided it was totally fixable, and then left it to collect dust and cat hair in the corner. We decided, slowly and eventually, that it probably wasn't going to get fixed and came to terms with this.

Then we decided we're going to run a table in the artist's alley at Youmacon in 2010, and Al pulled out the pieces to try to put them all back together, since MY scanner leaves a big strip of desaturation down the center of all colored scans.

And we put it back together.

And it works. Much better than mine, I might add.

We're still tweaking the printer though.
