The Greatest Love of all…
The greatest love of all- For a girl, being spoiled isn’t always about getting something expensive, shinny, or with an exclusive label- it’s also about spoiling yourself by helping others. I, under any circumstance, am not admirable or different- I’m the average ‘Jane’ to American Society.
My freshman year of high school (1999/2000), I made a decision that made me cry in selfishness and smile in a way I never had before. I didn’t cry about this decision until September 17, 2001. That night I cut off 13 inches of my hair and donated it to locks of love. (locksoflove.org)
I cried so selfishly at the fact that my hair was so incredibly short. I was sad that my license picture had my short hair in it and just the fact that it was 14 inches shorter after I got my haircut.
About a month later I received a small pink postcard in the mail, shortly after the anthrax mail scare. The post card said “Thank you.” Just with those two words, it made everything worth it.
