I'm so so so excited about this, I just HAD to put it in here!
I'm going to be playing one of the principle roles in the 'Mikado' this spring! The role is Katisha, and she's pretty much a psycho bitch. She's in love with a younger man who, of course, spurns her for a younger, more attractive woman. She is very bitter and crazy. What a fun role! Dr. Haggerty just emailed me that I definately have the role as an actor, and I also get two songs by myself! The other songs will be sung by the girl who was originally cast as her (Ceresa), and we're supposed to work on funny miscommunications together, as she's supposed to be like my "slave girl singing voice" for every song except her last two (which I get to myself because they are suited more for my range, or something?) I guess Ceresa is either really busy next semester with student teaching, or Haggerty really really wanted me to do at least the acting part! After last year, I thought I'd NEVER have an opportunity to have a principle role again, but looks like I was wrong! I'm just so happy! Praise God!
