The crazy buyer is now insisting that she didn't falsify anything and she can get financing through her credit union. And my Baltimore realtor had a death in the family Wednesday and has been completely out of touch, so everything has just been nuts.
My agent in DC has been absolutely amazing about all of this, though. She's gone so far above and beyond the call of duty in communicating with me and with the buyer's agent and lender here in Baltimore. If anybody in the area ever needs a realtor, I'll wholeheartedly recommend her to you. If it hadn't been for her, I'd really be swinging in the wind right now.
We've withdrawn the contract on the house in DC and told the listing agent there that if by some miracle she comes through with the financing and the DC house is still on the market after we close on the Baltimore house, we'd like to make another offer. I've suspended packing efforts pending more information about the financing situation. Honestly, at this point, I figure that if this buyer actually pulls something out of her ass and gets financing, then she can damned well accommodate me if I need a few days after closing to get my stuff moved out. After all this crap, she has no room to be demanding.
