**This is an update for my family and, well, since I've been busy/tired/etc, I thought I'd post it here as well, just so people know where I'm at and how things are. This may sound a bit more "upbeat" than my usual posts, but only because I don't tend to tell my family about the random emotional stuff, the gory details, nor the strange thoughts in my head. *shrug* I guess I save that sort of stuff for Karl and here. ;)
In any case, one prego update coming up!!! :D
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Hi everyone! *waves* It's been while since I got myself to sit still and do one of these!
I just realized that it's been over 2 months since I last updated!!!! Good grief! I've honestly tried to write some updates but got very busy with work, home, and sleep! Every time I went back to finish the update, I was already into the next week (or week after that...or week after that) and sort of gave up and tried to start over again. *shakes head at self* So, scrapping that, here we are at week 38....
WEEK 38!!!! I still can't believe how fast these 9 1/2 months have gone! It doesn't seem that long ago that I was standing in my bathroom and looking at my positive test a bit dumbfounded (I hadn't honestly expected to be pregnant - I just thought it was stress!) Still, here we are with less than 2 weeks to go (if Kiddo plans to be on the nose with her arrival - she's been pretty on the dot with everything else, so it wouldn't surprise me if she decided to be punctual like her dad and arrive right on the 10th!)
Things seem to be running smoothly. Being in the last month, I now have a prenatal appointment every week. The last two appointments consisted of taking the Group Strep B test (which came out negative, HURRAY!) and getting up to date on what to expect as we get closer to the due date (when to call, when to expect to go to the hospital, what the procedure is if she's running late, etc). At this point, I seem to be gaining about a pound a week and, according to the midwives, have only gained about 18 pounds total (on the low side, but still healthy).
Kiddo is doing good. Last week I had several signs of getting closer to her arrival and at last Friday's appointment, the midwife confirmed that Kiddo had indeed started to drop (she said my consuming of half a large pizza was a good sign also and that Kiddo was dropping enough for my stomach to have room to take in more food!) I've included a few pictures from the past month. They should go in order of 34 weeks, 36 1/2 weeks, and 38 weeks.
The last one in the blue shirt was taken yesterday and, I'm not sure if you can tell from the angle, but my belly had dropped considerable since my Friday appointment. Karl said he could tell as my belly was sitting lower than the table at Fox & Goose than the last time we went! XD
Other than that, all is still going well. The midwives all say I'm in good health and unless something completely unexpected happens, the birth should be pretty uneventful. Hopefully she doesn't take after me who is usually late and/or unpredictable! ;) Karl and I are both packed for the hospital and have our phones and numbers lists ready. We'll update and phone tree everyone as best we can after everything.
Well, that's it for now. Until next time, take care and wish us luck! :) ~j
