I finished reading Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. Yes, I know it is a Young Adult book and frankly I don't care. I love all kinds of literature and I just happen to really love YA fiction. And let me tell you, I LOVED this book. I think it was the love story and the dreamlike qualities of the writing and imagery. I don't know how much to say really because I don't want to spoil it if someone hasn't read it yet (though I heard it's really popular). Here are some of my favorite lines in the book (so far because I am re-reading it again before I take it back to the library...oh I want to keep it lol). Some are taken out of context so if they don't make sense thats why:
"I come here almost every night"
"Don't be self-conscious," he whispered in my ear. "If I could dream at all, it would be about you. And I'm not ashamed of it."
"Isn't it supposed to be like this?" He smiled. "The glory of first love, and all that. It's incredible, isn't it, the difference between reading about something, seeing it in the pictures, and experiencing it?"
"And then," he whispered, "as you were sleeping, you said my name. You spoke it so clearly, at first I thought you'd woken. But you rolled over restlessly and mumbled my name once more and sighed. The feeling that coursed through me then was unnerving, staggering. And I knew I couldn't ignore you any longer."
"For almost ninety years I've walked among my kind and yours...all the time thinking I was complete in myself, not realizing what I was seeking. And not finding anything, because you weren't alive yet."
All of these were said by the character Edward Cullen. And in case you weren't paying attention earlier, these are not my words they are Stephenie Meyer from her book Twilight (go read it hehe).
It's one of those things that I don't know why I love it, but then again I do. Does that make some sort of sense? Anywho, I already requested the second book from the library :)
