I love this idea. I have a very small Doctor Who playlist, most just for Ten, on my computer, and then another small list for Doctor/Rose songs that I also keep. I'll have to run through your list someday (when I'm not passing out somewhere or writing).

I would, however, love to make a few suggestions to the list.

First is I Am Kloot's "Avenue of Hope" from the Sunshine soundtrack. It's very emo!Ten and whenever I listen to it I either, a) want to make my first fanvid, b) remember Ten thinking of Gallifrey and the sad events of EoT, or, c) think of Ten so broken after Doomsday. Sample of the lyrics: "no-one's born, no-one dies, no-one loves, so no-one cries, and we wait to see just what we will become"

The next is a cover by Michael Andrews for the Donnie Darko soundtrack called "Mad World". Not sure why but another emo!Ten song.

Hmm, I should rec something nice and fluffy... Oh! How about the Jon McLaughling song "So Close" from Disney's Enchanted (...which I love so much. Don't tell anyone!) for Doctor/Rose? *listens to it now* Mmm, happy.

:D I think someone else described it as an ongoing fanmix and that's exactly what I was going for. I hope people take advantage of it. I plan to keep the list there (ongoing of course). I might organize things up a bit but it will be there.

Thanks for your suggestions! I already added them (even made a separate Ten list). I haven't heard the I Am Kloot song but I need to after hearing those lyrics. And I love Donnie Darko - no idea how I missed that cover since I love Mad World.

And I promise I won't tell a soul *shhhh...*

Suggest songs whenever you want! :)

I tried to find a good youtube vid of Avenue of Hope except they all had spoilers for the movie (as the producers did an official mix). Not sure if you've seen it or care about spoilers so I figured you'd find it. Or Grooveshark it.

Oh bugger, it's Jon McLaughlin, not McLaughling (note to self: posts at night are dangerous). Sorry for the typo.

Donnie Darko was such an amazing movie and the only reason why I watched it was because a video game had a trailer with the Michael Andrew's cover of "Mad World" on it. Then I went, ah, well, better watch the movie. What a good decision.

And I'll keep looking through my music list. I have close to 14,500 songs so there's bound to be something else on there...

Sunshine - I do believe I have seen it so I'll go look for it. Not really too big on spoilers...I mean, I'll say no spoilers! But I always end up looking at them anyway lol

And that's okay - easy fix!

Have you seen the sequel (I think it is), S. Darko...Darko S...Snarko I don't know what its called? I haven't and don't know if I want to lol

Good heavens - yes, with 14,500 songs I'm sure you can find something

It's taken since I was a freshman at college (so seven years) to create this music assortment, which is semi-legal, but I'll see what I can come up with. I'll try not to spam you with recs though.

Have you listened to Avenue of Hope yet? I could still find that youtube link if needed.

I haven't heard it yet - so that link would be much appreciated.

I really don't mind recommendation spam :D

Also, you've reminded me that I gotta go and update my music list....I've only got a few available on there bleh.

I Am Kloot - Avenue of Hope. Sorry but this is what I thought to be the best sounding version on YouTube. And it doesn't spoil the movie, which I totally recommend (a lot like "Waters of Mars" actually).

And another song I thought of while putting my favorites on random: Hans Zimmer's "Small Measure of Peace" from the movie The Last Samurai. I'm not sure what you think of instrumentals (other than Murray Gold's work, of course), but this song just hit me in the gut and I went, 'this is so very Doctorish.' Because there are no lyrics you'll have to listen for yourself. I'm thinking an early Nine for this one. YouTube listen. Actually, that whole soundtrack was amazing (I love Zimmer's stuff) even if I wasn't so crazy about the movie when I first watched it.

Oh it's beautiful. I've seen the movie Sunshine actually :)

I enjoy instrumentals, even those outside of Murray Gold. I just listened to Small Measure of Peace and it breaks my heart - I think it fits a pre-Rose Nine. I hope you don't mind if I add this to the list.

I love movie/tv show soundtracks a great deal and it makes me wonder why I can't get into regular classical music. I think it's the emotion behind the music in a movie/show that I already know about and don't need to imagine.

I don't mind at all. "Small Measure of Peace" is definitely a pre-Rose Nine, searching for his soul after a gruesome war. Good job spotting that one.

Oh, I'm the same way! The one I've been wanting to get is the Social Network soundtrack. I like some classical music, but I think that the two genres are quite different. Like you said, the emotion adds to the music (like Murray Gold's stuff *sigh* Rose's theme kinda kills me in particular).
