Day 16 - Fave Martha Moment
Come on - be honest...how many of you thought I was postponing this entry
because it's a FaveMartha moment? I'm curious....
I actually wasn't hiding from this entry - real life just took over and has refused to let go.
This entry is going to sound so much more harsh than I intend it to be.
I assume most of you know that I don't like Martha Jones.
She's not my favorite companion. Very far from it and I have my reasons
just as we all do with what we don't like.
All that said - I admired Martha the most the day she decided to leave the Doctor.
Let's face it - this situation was just not going to end well if she stayed with him,
for either one of them. She loved him - he didn't love her. Not like that.
And that is when Martha did something that just made me go, "Finally!"
Nooooo - not because I knew she was leaving...*ahem*
It was because Martha's a smart woman and she finally came to her senses that
in staying with the Doctor - she was always going to be compared.
She wouldn't get what she wanted.
So Martha looked at the situation - really looked at it and took herself out of the equation.
And that's why this is my favorite Martha moment -
not because I didn't like her and wanted her to leave,
but because it was when she finally thought about herself.
Not the Doctor.
Not the Doctor & Rose.
She thought about herself. And in this type of situation? That's admirable.
