Random Update

I know I haven't updated in a bajillion years, but no one else updates either, so anyway.

I had a blast this weekend. It looked like Friday was going to suck; I was replaced for work, and Krista and Lauren were busy, so it looked like I would be spending Friday night cleaning. Then I called Amanda and she invited me to go ice-skating. I met up with her, Dana, Linnea and Alex, and we missed our first connection because the 71C was late. We caught the next 21A, but when Dana asked how much further it was to Neville Island the driver said we had the wrong 21A. We got off at the next stop, decided to ask the people at the bar down the road what bus to take to get back downtown, where we planned to find the correct 21A. They told us that Neville Island was right across the bridge that we had just walked past. We turned out to be a five minute walk from the rink.

After we skated, we headed back downtown, watched the fireworks at PNC Park, ate at the Primanti's near the PPG building, and caught a bus back to Oakland.

Yesterday, I went shopping with Dana and Amanda at South Side Works instead of going to the football game. I bought Luke's birthday presents there. (An apron and a meat tenderizer, in case anyone cares about this.) I baked my favorite cookies, and Luke made pork with fennel and pancetta for when our family came over. We all ate a lot and had a blast.

Christa and I got ice cream with Amanda and Ann-Marie later, and we all polka-ed and slid down railings.

Today, Krista, Christa and I went to Pamela's for brunch, changed our minds when we saw the line, and then walked back to the apartment, where I made pancakes and bacon. /run-on sentence

This evening we had a small birthday celebration for Luke with Mom, John, Grandma and Christa at the Church Brewworks. The food there was amazing.

I stopped at work afterwards, found out that they thought I had quit, got myself scheduled in, and picked up my tips from last week.

And thus ends my most eventful weekend yet this year.
